My GP told me that my tight foreskin could only be fixed through circumcision and that steroid creams wouldn't work. He also told me that sex is possible without having to retract the foreskin.
Also that you could have sex with an unretracted foreskin whilst wearing a condom.
This isn't really a comfort though. What happens if your partner wants to go down on you. A mouth full of foreskin isn't a nice thing to present, but surely there are alternatives to getting circumcised?
I don't want to lose the sensitivity.
Then again this was an 8.30 appointment on a Friday, in an NHS centre and he didn't bother to look at my penis.
I am left confused and scared about having sex now knowing that I have to get mutilated to go about it.
Thus, I am seeing a proper urologist.

More Coffee,
I think you're doing the right thing, going to a urologist.
The general doctor was telling you the truth. It is entirely possible to have sex with a foreskin intact...without retracting the foreskin...while wearing a condom... and with retracting the foreskin.
Think about it.
For thousands of years, the human race had sex and continued to reproduce, even though there had been no circumcision. No matter why you think circumcision began, it was not the original normal state... but something that man imposed.
These days, circumcision is done as a matter of hygene and culture, but there are those who oppose it. Some wish to have their foreskin back, and pursue plans to recreate it or recapture some feeling that they have lost something precious.
I think the point here is that we do what feels good, and if it feels good to retract the foreskin during, before or to allow sex, then we will.
The poster who is frightening people by telling them they will have no sex life without retracting their foreskin is spreading fear and mis-information.
Your BEST source of information is your family doctor or urologist.
Although I would imaging sex might feel more intense with a retracted foreskin, I think men have been having orgasms for thousands of years with all kinds of various states of their foreskin and it's a learned value.
That is, you do what feels best to you, and you find a way to work with what you have.

This is what the urologist i went to see told me too, thought I rarely hear anyone else saying so. I've never had sex before and hope that both your doctor and mine were correct.

I have skin. I've had sex and I am in an active, healthy relationship. It's really no big a deal. All this c**p about you have to get a circumcision or else you'll never have sex is a load of c**p. I haven't noticed any problems, my girlfriend hasn't noticed any problems and masturbation is not a problem. As for hygiene, nothing's fallen off yet. ;-)

Actually a uncircumcised guy can have a sex life. I am uncircumcised and I used to have sex with my foreskin pulled all the way back...after awhile I wanted to know what it felt like with the head of my penis totally covered by my foreskinso I pulled it all the way over and put the condom on and I had an orgasm like I never had before...I will never get rid of my foreskin

Yes, that's normal. There is a great deal of variation in the exact appearance, length, and function of the foreskin on different developing males.
You are still developing and your penis will continue to go through changes, even though you may not notice them a lot.
We tend to focus on the penis, the head, the glans, the foreskin... typically when we are either sexual aroused, erect or have an irritation. Otherwise, we frequently overlook it.
In fact, your foreskin will tend to retract more as your penis becomes larger... and, if the foreskin is feeling too tight, there are some ways of loosening it. Many boys will stretch the foreskin, slowly, gently, several times a week... the process takes months to expand SLOWLY to where it will retract all the way.
There are some medical instruments that are marketed on the internet to assist in this, but I know no one who has tried that.
Also, your family doctor can examine you and determine if a small slit on the dorsal side is necessary to allow for easier retraction.
However, at age 16, and not of an age where regular sexual activity would be expected (like in a married man) any doctor might be very reluctant to suggest anything more than gentle stretching at first. You're still developing, and there is plenty of time for things to adjust.
Don't worry. See you doctor if you really feel the foreskin is too tight...Phimosis, which needs attention.

Phimosis, I think you meant :)
The "glansie" has proven results but stretching is always the best starting point. The tool should be used if you don't get anywhere and it sounds in this post that he wouldn't need that.
Is that the kind of thing you meant, Kirk?

Yes, that's it.
And I agree, I don't think he needs that... at least, not from what I understood of his condition. (sometimes it's hard to tell..)

Yes, I agree there, it is difficult to understand some posts. Sometimes we get rather sketchy information and things are left out that they don't think are important.
By the way, have you been messing with my posts? The emphasis looks good, just wish I'd thought of it :-P

for the past 3 years of my extremely healthy sex life, i have had the issue of my foreskin not retracting. I have only had sex with a condom for those 3 years, and it is not until recently that my sex life has changed. Currently i am 19 years old and for the first time in 19 years, my foreskin has fully retracted. I believe it is because of the fact that i dont use condoms anymore, is why this happened. It hurt only the first few weeks afterwards, only while haveng sex simply because of the sensitivity, but now sex is way more amazing and pleasurable. I was concidering getting cut, but i no longer have that thought lingering in my head. I say instead of circumcision, try to retract your foreskin. take a shower while retracted aswell, as i believe it helps with the sensitivity issue. Take it from someone with first hand experience.

well im 55 & have always had a tight foreskin. i can retract it ok when im soft but if I try it hard it will stick behind the glans penis until I get soft again. This is most uncomfortable. My glans is also ver sensitive if touched.
I still have no problems during sex tho, Im just careful to use plenty lube & not to make uncontrolled thrusts!
