So most of my life my periods have always been very irregular, maybe 2-3 times a year. When I did get my period it was always very light but would last 2 weeks +. When I was 24 I had started getting my period regularly, I associated it with my age and eating habbit changes. Also Around that time I had started smoking marijuana regularly, 2-3 times a day. Then I got pregnant, after 6 years of marriage wasn't trying but wasn't taking any birth control either. When I found out I stoped smoking right away. After I had my daughter things were back to how they were, only getting my period 2-3 times a year. Im now 30 almost 31 started smoking marijuana again about 9 months ago regularly, many times a day. My period has been coming every month again regular flow lasts about a week for at least the last 6 months. I was thinking it was just a coincidence but after reading these I'm pretty sure marijuana is the cause of my period regulating.

You are a Botanist, you mean? Not sure what a Bottonist is here? These typos are ridiculous in this post. This why people, you need to talk to your doctor not consult the random internet posts

So I've recently noticed a VERY strange pattern with smoking marijuana and my menstrual cycle. I've been an avid smoker on and off for years and the pattern that developed suddenly became clear to me today and it has blown my mind. I smoked many years ago and quit suddenly for several years. When I quit, my period stopped with it for SEVERAL years (about 5 or 6), to the point that I was put on a special medication to make me bleed for 4 or 5 months (which had zero effect) and was even tested for early menopause. I happened to start smoking again a few years ago and within a couple months my period picked back up again like nothing had ever happened (without me putting two and two together at this point), but now I've quit again (for about 2 months) and low and behold, no period anymore in this entire time frame (and please, trust me, sex is NOT an issue; I've been celibate more years than I'd care to remember). PLEASE do NOT tell me this is not possible or it's my imagination. I know my body and what's happening (or not happening) to it and regardless of the studies this IS what is happening. I would just like to understand the reasoning behind it.

i smoke pretty regular, just started a few months ago, my period was 45 days late and i took three pregnancy tests which all came back negative, i believe it was the marijuana that made my period irregular

Not receiving monthly periods can be/are damaging to your body. Usually a more obvious symptom your body slowly getting damaged is in your bones. Its healthy to have short periods, however it is unhealthy to miss to many. Also when asking your doctor or GP for advice, keep in mind that due to there being so many problems with people, we aren't always told the truth about how our health really is. So next time try seeking help from a biochemist, or a professional who works towards a holistic approach for your health.
