When I smoke I have my period every 27-28 days. When I don't smoke I have it every 32-33 days, it def changes my cycle. I assume it changes when I ovulate too. Some people say it makes it harder to become pregnant but I think that's only for people who have fertility issues to begin with. I have a friend who smokes every day and her husband has been smoking everyday for 15 years and they can accidentally pregnant on birth control twice.

I don't know if this helps but in March I started smoking weed for the first time in my life and my periods stopped. At first I thought I was pregnant, when that wasn't the case my lady doctor suggested it was some of my Bipolar meds that did it. I just quit a week ago and had a week long period. It was awful. I almost want to smoke weed again.

I'm 26, African American, 155lbs and has been an avid weed smoker on and off since I was 13. I smoke 3 blunts a day for a year straight then will quit for about a year and repeat. I do not smoke anything else. I have a 5 day cycle every time and I quit smoking 3 weeks ago and I'm currently on day 3 of my first cycle since stopping. My cycle came on time. I have notice that my cramping has been way less and my bleeding is half of what it was when I was smoking. I don't know if this is because this is my first cycle after quitting but I will keep paying attention throughout my duration of not smoking. Marijuana is known to raise blood pressure shortly while and after smoking so I wonder if that has anything to do with why I bled heavier while smoking.

Thankyou!! This made so much sense. I quit marijuana a year ago and my flow has yet to get back to normal. But I am glad I read your view. I have found absolutely no one who would seven agree with me, let alone help me get back to normal. But Thankyou. :)

Thank you for your experience. I am smoking marijuana for 3 weeks but not every day.
My menstruation started 3/11/2017 and I still have it. So maybe is the marijuana?

Personally I smoke a lot and for the past 4 months I have been late on my period. I didn’t exactly worry about it the first month because I just thought it was one late but I guess I was wrong . Not to long ago I basically had a panic attack of being pregnant and then I realized there’s no way because 4 months in a pregnancy I would already have somewhat a bump and I don’t. So my question is, is marijuana effecting my period cycle?

I used to smoke quite heavily until I got married and seriously cut back. I noticed when I was an avid smoker marijuana helped with the menstrual cramps tremendously and it also made me feel better overall. Now, I also did notice when I smoked while on my period my flow would not be as heavy and would not last as long, it was almost as if smoking interrupted my cycle. I always got my period every month though, it never was to that extent. Now that I don’t smoke my cramps are ridiculous and my flow is heavy again. I’m seriously considering picking up the habit again, but I don’t want to mess with my cycle. I like it to be “normal.”

It can delay your period if you're not used to using marijuana close to your cycle. But everyone is different. So it may affect people in different ways. Some people get their period every other month while on weed, some get it every month as usual, and some even get very irregular, but this does depend on the person's body and how their body reacts to certain things.

Yes, it does affect your menstrual flow. I smoked weed while menstruating and soon after that my periods were so little and still tge flow, it is very less. I wanna know why this is happening. Any websites?suggestions?
