Guys I feel for you all. I too took whey isolate for about three years and never made the connection about my diminished libido until recently. In September 2013 I personally thought that the level of 'Phytic Acid' in the large amounts of porridge oats I was consuming was preventing vitamin and mineral absorption combined with over exercising depleting my reserves resulting in my body being in deficit and therefore under performing in that areas nod extremely low in testosterone. So my approach was to increase testoterone which at the time I thought was the underline issue not the whey.

I'll expand later about my dietry changes but for now straight to the chase:

The good news is that almost within in the first week of dropping whey my libido bounced back. I attributed this primarily to introducing 100mg of Zinc Picoliante into my diet. (Zinc is powerful stuff and crucial for a healthy libido) Later in October I added around 150mg Vitamin B6 which applified the effects. I felt like a man possesed both in the office surrounded by women and back in the gym, I was in beast mode.

Expansion: in trying to increase testoterone I thought that grain I. My diet was causing my low libido due to the Phytic acid biding to minerals along with over doing at the gym resulting in a deficit. I therefore decided to go on a Paelo diet. I already knew I was lactose intolerant he es my choice to use whey isolate so along with dropping grain dropped dairy which included the whey. So I came at this from a completely different angle.

Over the months that proceeded I continued to research increasing testosterone and have evolved my strategy and the below seem to have a synagistic effect. Though zinc as far as I'm concerned seems to by crucial.

Zinc picolinate
B6
Magnesium 100mg
Vitamin D3 +vitamin K2 amd cod liver oil along with selinium is a great testoterone booster (Google the 4 hour body by time ferris)
Boron can also be benificial

Where I'm at now:

Despite resolving the libido issues, Until two days ago was still desperate to understand why it dropped in the first place. I thought it was a synagistic effect of stress from work, stupid intensity of working out and the porridge. The industry said take whey and with best intentions took it In high amounts. Not only did it affect my libido but mainly my mood as I gained severe anxiety. Until the other day I thought I must be dairy intolerant and therefore having steered clear for a few months, to test this I took a whey protein bar hidden in the back of the cupboard and noticed a dip in my 'junk's' productivity. I googled whey and stumbled upon this website in following the zinc and b6, I bounced back within a few hours. ( note that I stay away from dairy and avoid processes food, this was an experiment) having now made the connection i'll stay away from whey indefinatly.

I've reviews the comments on this forum and think that the Exitotoxins theory hold a lot of credence. Make a lot of sense.
The likely damage to the neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine from the whey seems logical. I think if that's the case it's important to implement mineral and vitamins in higher doses to combat the damage done to aid accelerated repair.

Additional info:

It's important to note that everyone is different and while I have had success this strategy might not work for everyone, I have recently discovered that I am a histadelic ( high histamine individual predisposed to have a high libido however has a condition called pyrouria where the body produces too much hemoglobin with a by product called pyroles which bind ironically to Zinc and B6 this causes a deficiency in these specific things as they prevent their absorbtion. It was pure coincidence that I until lay started taking them in september which corrected this.

I'm not sure whether I developed this conditional a result of the prolonged exposure to whey or all ways had it, but it's important to consider as in restoring these levels by taking high doses of both, this brought my libido back.

I've spent a good 9 months trying to stay optimal health and the two basis' I'd look at primarily are

1) any allergies or intolerances
2) mineral or vitamin deficiencies

Also it worth looking at implementing a clean non processed diet cutting out grain and dairy, supprisingly, a high quality high fat diet is optimal for tester one production, grass fed butter and coconut oil are worth googling along with primal blueprint book, and bullet proof diet.

To conclude, to keep things simple I'd recommend trying to start with 100mg zinc picolinate (most absorbable form of zinc) and about 200mg of B6 for a week to see if you have any improvement. This might not work for everyone but is worth trying.

I wish you all the best.

Hai everybody

I Started going to gym from past 3 weeks and I am taking whey proteins ( protein powder) last two weeks. I found sudden decrease in my libido, and morning erections too gone. I was totally confused thinking that even I havent masturbated more times these days then how come this can happen , then I got into internet research and found it to be whey powder the culprit!! Shall I leave taking this powder now itself? Will that work?

Thanks OSC and thanks Levi for the support. Levi I've just bought vitamin B6 and zinc picolinate and will try it out and see if it helps. Truth seeker stop all whey powder immediately and if you're lucky you'll recover in a month but if you took it for too long or you keep taking it you'll be stuck like this for a long long time. How is everyone else getting on...?? M

I'm 100% now M. Truth seeker chances are you're having the same issue that I did at first. I put it down to your body adjusting to the new increased levels of testosterone from the excercise, you'll find it sorts it self out in a couple of weeks (hopefully!). Most of my friends who started working out said they had the same issue regardless of taking whey or not. Hope this helps ☺

It won't help as it's your body adjusting to the new levels of testosterone (hopefully)

Samus some guys get a decrease in libido after working out and that seems to have been your issue, its caused by a lowering of testosterone and probably not the whey if you're still taking it or not. If though you get the low libido, erectile dysfunction and numbness in your bits do not attempt to touch whey protein again in your life as you'll only make things much much worse. Look what happened to Spanish man, he recovered in a month, then a few weeks later took a quarter of a scoop and got rightly screwed up. I also recovered nearly 100% twice and accidentally ate whey powder in processed food and was knocked off again for years, so DO NOT TOUCH WHEY EVER AGAIN anybody who has had this happen. Under, how are you getting on???

To the guest who asked me about zinc and b6 I've bought the vitamins but haven't started taking them yet, will probably this week. Truth seaker if you don't recover shortly you could be waiting a year or more but now you'll have to avoid whey powder in processed foods otherwise you could trigger it off again. Best thing you could do is see a solicitor, tell him what's happened, he'll send you to a load of doctors to figure this out and then sue the ba___rds

People normally workout hard after the consumption of protein supplements. This can divert the regular desire of sexual intercourse.
Nevertheless, the supplement certainly has caused my penis size to grow esp the thickness and its head.
