I have no health insurance, so I am here to read other experiences with whatever we seem to have. I get excruciating stomach aches (I have one right now and have had it since I woke up at 10 am) and diarrhea in the morning, and it is ESPECIALLY upset in the morning if I eat a late night pb&j sandwich. I originally thought that my morning diarrhea had something to do with meat consumption, and I have been a vegetarian for year now but it's still happening. Most spicy foods do this to me as well, garlic powder sends my stomach into a gaseous frenzy and pb&j on whole wheat bread makes me want to cry in agony. I don't know what to do, except go apply for government health insurance because I am only 23 and can't get benefits at my job. I NEED to see a doctor. It could be IBS, maybe - I do have a very stressful life. These pains have been going on for about two years now...with no sign of relief anywhere. It's only in the morning, and after a few hours it goes away and I continue my day. But the mornings are so painful I just want to cry :-(

I wake up early and my stomach hurts like i have a lot of gas it makes alot of noise this last for a few hours where i may have the diaherra for the entire day. i have concluded that the amout of sleep is what effects it i need to have at least 6 hours or else i have extreme pain in the morning and sometimes the entire day. also during stressful weeks or months it seems to be a much bigger problem. for the most part i live with it and try to ignore it but now i am really tired of it and just want no more pain how can i get better?

I suffer from similar symptoms and have found cannabis to be very useful in treatment of this. Small amounts upon waking, it works wonders for my ibs. I honestly don't know how i coped before i found it.
I believe it helps with bowel inflammation, obviously you don't want to walk into work "high" but only small amounts are required and i think pain is more of a distraction then buzz you receive.

I am 16 with stomach pain when I get up at seven. While at school, I cannot make it through first period without having to go to the bathroom. This is really embarrassing. The pain stops at nine. I am fine until the next morning. I also have not had my period in almost 5 monthes. No way I am pregnant. Not eating breakfast use to help, but nothing helps anymore. It could be stress, but right now it is the only thing I am stressed about. I have no idea what to do.

Hello,
For the past five years now I have had to endure watching my mother wake up with the exact same symptoms as all of you and I know from being on the other side of the situation that it is more serious than the doctors are making it out to be. How can it be that out of all of you, living in your various states and visiting your variouse doctors, that not one of you have found any relief? Who is diong something about this... --shall we call it an epidemic? What is going on here? How can it be possible that not one doctor can properly fix what ever this is that is obviously an issue here?? I mean no doctor can explain what is going on, yet there are literally hundereds of people sufferring from the SAME EXACT f*****g SYMPTOMS. Excuse my language but I cant even begin to describe my frustration. I cant stand watching my mother doubled over in pain anymore yet... modern medicine has failed me and I am at my whits end. It is apparent that all of you are as well... It is said that there is powers in numbers, well there is a true army on the internet. All it takes is orgonizing oruselves to get a job done... So what can be done to get Dr.House on this situation?

Wow okay I just found this post and maybe my story can help people. Or others can help me. About eight years ago I noticed my increase in the amount of times I was using the bathroom. It all started when my doctors gave me a few different anitbiotics to treat urinary problems I was having. I called my doctor and he did a stool test. I had c. Diff an intestinal infection. So after it "cleared" up I was still going to the restroom three times a day at least. I miss the days when I only went once a day. =( so I put up with it for years while I finished college. But back in 07 I started to wake up with this punched feeling under my sternum. It hurts real bad and would get worse if I smoked in the morning. Also if I belched I got a bit of relief but its only short lived. It hurts so bad that id skip eating most of the day. A glass of milk would help to dull the pain. Had an upper gi that nothing came up so I got the infamous ibs diagnosis. But it all changed about two years ago. I ate some burger from a chain place and got sick a few hours later. Then two days after that I got sick again. Then a few day after that again. I threw up for 35 days off and on for two months. I lost about 40 something pounds and had a whole bunch of problems. I couldn't sleep without waking up and vomiting. I couldn't leave the house cause I had no ideal when it would hit. I had scope tests, ct scans, ultrasounds, barium xrays, radiation emptying and numerious blood work done. Everytime I'm told I have a perfectly. Clean bill of health. But they told me I had gerd and gastroparesis. The funny thing is I take 60mgs of prilosec and I still have heartburn. They had me take all sorts of meds. Anti nasuea like reglan, zofran, karafate for stomach lining, anitryptolien, zoloft, align, some pill that slows the intestinal track. Which was the worst thing ever. Woke up constipated and vomiting. But my gi doctor tells me change my habbits and exercise more and don't eat before bed, prop my pillow. Tried all these things and more but they don't help. So I saw a physc dr. And she said it panic disorder. Now I'm not a doctor but I have enough education to know its not aniexty. I think more so its gi related and not in my head. I haven't takin a benzo in about five months and I'm not vomiting. But I can't shake the daily pain I'm left with. Sorry this is so long, but I need to explain my past before addressing the present. Now I go to bed after 1am and I can be awoken after four to eight hours after passing out. When I wake I feel pressure in my upper mid stomach its always accompanied with burning sore feeling and the urge to use the bathroom. I go to the restroom and I'm left with a tense, sore feeling all day that makes me wanna vomit, so I starve till I can put down a few bites and it sometimes goes away as I eat a bit more. But I still get pressure that comes and goes. Plus when I feel the burning I get light headed and chills and feverish. All in all the best thing I can do is stand up cause it relieves the amount of burning and the movement helps to bring up the gas. If you ask me our bodys work on a routine. If your not doing well you've screwed up your routine. The heart beats the slowest around 3 or 4 for deep sleep. When your cells rebuild, plus from the moment I wake up I can feel acid start to come out. Acid or irratation it hurts and it starts when I get up. So I either have food and acid not digesting while I sleep, or my body starts to get ready for food. I found that if I take a small smoke of weed I can deal with the pain and I have a feeling of hunger. I don't do it a lot cause I have asthma and its a last resource. The reglan is usually the best cause it'll help with the pressure too. So I take prilosec, 1mg kolnopin as needed I became more active and I take probiotics everyday everyother week. If I take to much I get a lot more gas. I see my doctor tomorrow to talk about more options so I hope to get this under control. I wanna go bacck to school but it sucks always having to know where the bathroom is. Btw the kolnopin help me too sleep so good. All u need is a half of one under your tounge so it'll enter the blood stream faster. I plan on asking for a acid test, and something to help me quit smoking. Althought I hate medication at this point ill take anything that'll help

Yes i havthe suffered awful pain for years which despite having had Endometriosis and Adhesions and a Cyst the medical profession still think may be IBS related. I wake through a haze of intensifying pain and can barely move to even reach out for pain killers, i just
lay there for an hour of more exhausted by the pain and eventually try to pull my knees to my chest and stretch my legs and hips to try and relieve the pain and lower back ache. I keep pressing my pelvic area to try and pinpoint the pain its always right sided and round belly button and i do find visiting the loo and passing a motion brings some relief but it continues to ache and pinch, walking
upright is most comfortable position, sitting in low seats causes right sided pinching quite quickly. A strong coffee first thing does help kickstart bowels although many say don't have coffee it actually helps me. Does get worse two weeks or so before menstruation but now menopausal and hormones all over the place. My guess is a combination of endo/adhesions or cyst with IBS complicating whole issue!

For most of the posts on here I would look suggest that the person may be suffering from anxiety. This can cause a tense stomach in sleep which loosens stools and causes a sore stomach early in the morning, at least for me! Oh and also grinding teeth. You may or may not even realize that you are anxious, but it contributes to a lot of stomach issues, often being diagnosed with IBS.

It sounds like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) which is caused by stress. You should talk to your doctor about it and try to manage stress better. Good Luck!

I have this happen to me all the time. My thing is I smoke weed quite often. When I smoke at night I tend to eat alot right before I fall asleep. It isn't bad if I sleep in but sometimes I feel like throwing up if I wake up too early. I have thrown up in the morning due to this and it was neon colors either yellow or green and it seemed just like a bunch of stomach acid. Don't know if that helps but maybe you can cut down food before bed

i also get awful cramps and diarrhea only when i wake up before 6:30. I went to the doctor but she had no idea what it could be.Biggest waste of $40 I ever spent. I am not an anxious person and the amount of sleep i get doesn't make a difference. It happens like clockwork and is extremely debilitating.

I have had intestinal cramping every morning for as long as I can remember. The severity of the pain is off the charts and makes it hard to function. I have not been diagnosed with IBS or anything like that, but I do have end stage liver disease. I am open to any suggestions...I take lactulose daily.
