I really need to know about effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. What will happen to my husband? His ALS was discovered a month ago and for now, he is just experiencing minor problems with muscle control, especially those in extremities. Doctor explained the details of progress, but I still cannot believe in what he said. Is all that true?
I am afraid that your husband is having a dangerous disease. I assume that you were explained that the cause is almost always unknown, and that there is no effective cure found for this illness. As for effects, his muscle control will be damaged more and more, up to the point where he would lose it almost completely. It ends fatally, but wit proper treatment, this event can be postponed for ten years in some cases.
