Within a half hour after drinking any liquid or eating anything my abdominal area pops out to make me look 6months pregnant.
The reast of me is pretty average for a 59 year old woman. I hate clothes, I hate shopping, I have mentioned this to the doctor,
but he looks at my weight and not my height 5'9". I don't look like how much I weigh. I have been told this all my life. I just am
so depressed about this, that it is really affecting my relationship with my husband, my work and my life.

I have the same problem for the past 6 to 8 months I get so bloated that I look 6 to 8 months pregnant. after a few days it goes away, I keep gaining weight and I'm eating healthier and drinking more water. I don't have the energy to exercise very much, I've been to the dr and they have ran all sorts of tests and tell me everything is fine, but they can't explain why I keep getting bloated.

I am a 57 yr old woman. I started this miserable journey in April being so tired I could barely get up and go to work. the worst fatigue I have ever imagined. The bloat started. It became difficult to breathe because I was HUGE..right under my breasts especially. I went to a dr who told me my live enzymes were "a little off" but otherwise things looked good " and to take 4 beno a day. I did . nothing happened. I gained another 4 lbs. I have been off work 3 weeks at this time. I am exhausted and I blow up like a balloon after a few bites of food. I have had a CAT of my lungs (yes, I am really THAT short of breath) I had a CAT of my abdomen-"looks good-no cancer" now Friday I have an endoscopy which I hear is HELL but I am willing to try anything. I actually cried when I stumbled on to this site and read I wasn't alone. I feel like I am losing my mind. I am normally 155 lbs. I am sitting here in a 2x shirt @170lbs HOWEVER I am wearing size 12 shorts. It is all belly. Please give me some encouragement. I am beside myself. Too sick to make any $ and running up thousands in medical bills.......

Hi,
these doctors have the same answer "nothing is wrong" .they just order a couple of tests to make money. I think it is a lot of gas has been accumulated in your body because of the enriched flour products we eat, take limejuice ,apple cider, plain yogurt for good bacteria because of the low acidity problem. you have to keep the pH of your stomach, stomach has to produce enough hydrochloric acid naturally. get back to me after this works for a few days.

My sis is a Desert Storm Vet. She came back from Iraq weighing 90 lbs and coughing up black stuff. She has so many physical ailments and they have never been able to figure out what was wrong. The last 2-3 yrs she has been suffering from bloated stomach. She has seen dozens of Drs, including MAYO clinic, with none giving her a result. Her stomach will blow up to where she looks 6-7 mths pregnant, at times after meals or even when she has had nothing to eat. Then right before your eyes it will go back down. One time while she was at yet another Dr, she started out normal, and while there talking to the Dr her stomach blew up. The Dr was in shock, yet he too cold find nothing wrong. She has had ultrasounds, CAT scans, endiscpe, etc etc. They find nothing every time. She is now at the point where she barely has her stomach go down. She has tried every imaginable test and diet. They tell her she has gas, yet she has no gas symptoms (belching or flatuation). It is very painful in her upper right abdomin. She has taken a barrage of meds, and has to resort to Vicadin several times a day to help ease the pain. Does anyone or has anyone found any info on what could possibly be happening to her. She is at her wits end and needs help. This has caused a debilitaing life for her and I am not sure how much more she can take. Any suggestions would be helpful.

To jjohnson,
I have the same EXACT symptoms as you do and have went through 4 or 5 tests already.. and they can find nothing. I am overweight and I think that the doctors think I'm not smart enough to realize the difference between bloating and fat. I am not making it up! I am very bloated, hard time breathing.. same as you. I am scheduled for another ultrasound to check for ovarian cancer. Have you found out anything yet?

I would suggest that the gluten may be a large part of the problem....Have you had that checked by now?

I am also around the same age. In 2006 I had an accident which has lead me to have several xrays, mri's and many in the same month from then to now. I have been reading up on this because I too am miserable after eating or not eating. I am not constipated, do not suffer from vomiting or pain. I am just ready to explode from the moment I take my shower until the end of the day. Resting at night seems to help reduce the fluid. The bloating starts below my breasts and rounds out like a basketball so I look 9 months pregnant. I have gained 25 lbs since the accident, but this is different. I eat very little and I eat very healthy. No dairy, no red meat but I do have 2 glasses of white or red wine with dinner. Due to inactivity from the accident, I am now on blood pressure and cholesteral meds as well as ibuprofin daily. I also take a water pill and an aspirin, daily. Initally, the water pill seemed to help. Now, nothing helps. Everything seems to point to extra fluid in the peritonitial wall (spelling?). Ascites was the word I found to describe the fluid. Ovarian cancer and or cancer of the liver were part of my discovery of bloating. Either way, the bloating is to be a symptom to be concerned about by all of you writing. I wish you all well.
