I also wonder if the uti's are due to wearing pads, and pooling of stagnant urine in the pad. I can't always change the pad immediately after it gets wet,
Hoping that over the next couple of months the incontinence resolves and I don' need pads any longer. I hear some people can take 6 months or longer to resolve their incontinence.
Thanks
Bruce
The 110 gram was the number I was given by my urologist who did my biopsy. The nurse administered the injection to numb the site, and examined my prostate by ultrasound. She commented, You have a big prostate for yout age! The 92 grams reported was the actual weight removed. My PSA pre surgery was as high as 17 at one point. Post surgery it went down to .37 !
The Dr. Said my prostate was about the size of a baseball.
I never took any pain meds with the exception of the morphine administered to me on recovering for anesthesia.
I had to change pads every 2 hours for a period of a month and a half.
I still wear one and change it once a day due to minor dribbling . Some never had to wear a pad ever. Each guy is a little different. I have never regretted having the surgery.
Keep us posted.

I have had dysuria and hematuria since with bladder spasms and nocturia as well. Waiting for all these to ger better as Ii know they will.
At least my stream is strong even though it goes in multiple places currently. I also had a stricture that I did not know about that was dilated. Hope it does not come back. Have not needed any narcotics.

Well I had my surgery done 3 days ago at the hospital that I work at as a physician and just found out today that my tissue from the HOLEP was discarded. Not happy.

Sorry to hear your tissue was discarded. That would be hard to explain to another Dr. I know from my experience , with all the test prior to surgery , I felt quite confident there was no cancer, but, the final report confirming no cancer was a very good news. I am truly sorry you will not have that same confirmation.
As a Dr. , you know quite well the healing process . I do know many of us had different healing experiences,
However ,all of us have expressed the positive aspects of this surgery.

I am scheduled for Laser TURP in 2 weeks. Were you prescribed AVODART before the surgery?
I'm considering HoLEP surgery for my BPH. I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and I'm considering Dr. Amy Guise and Dr. Charles Kidd. Has anyone had any experience with them, or any other surgeons near Milwaukee for HoLEP?
Thank you!
1 Where they studied this procedure
2 How many have they performed.
3 Where is the surgery going to be done?
I was blessed to have a Urologist from my Church who knew me. He sent me to the most experienced Holep surgeon in North America , Dr Lingeman in Indianapolis.
There are a lot of good Drs. Out there, do your home work and make sure you get a good one . It's your body you have the final say.
I had Holep Surgery about 4 years ago. I don't regret it for a minute. You may find my earlier post helpful to give you an idea of what to expect . This forum was my recovery journal . It was my good fortune to have another Holep patient to correspond with. Feel free to read my earlier posts.
