I'm having a "popping" sensation when I swallow. This is on my tongue and is no where near my toncils. I came on here hoping to find an answer but am still finding nothing. My osteopath has no idea, my dentist has no idea... it's been popping since December 2013. It feels like is within my neck attached to my tongue, like inside the tonge, the part that reaches down my neck. There are no sores, no rawness, no pain, nothing! Just the popping when I swallow, pretty much every time! I don't know what it is but I'd sure like it to stop lol. Anyone have ideas on this one

I have a similiar feeling, feels like tiny pieces of food are stuck in my throat. Also at night feels like tissues are moving around in my mouth...doesn't hurt.... just very uncomfortable

I don't think anyone is understanding what I'm saying... I don't have pieces that feel like food. This is INSIDE my tongue. The tongue takes up most of the mouth and goes almost all the way down the throat. It feels like a tumor within my tongue or something that "pops" when I swallow. I can't feel it with my fingers as I can't cut open my tongue and get to the inside... *sigh*

I've been dealing with this exact same thing since Spring of 2012. Ive had CTs and the ENT THINKS its Eagle Syndrome. Its an awful sensation and sometimes that area swells and it throbs. :(

I totally understand. I too can feel the 'bone' with my finger. Its on the right and not the left. Its under and behind the right tonsil. It makes my tonsil swell. It is NOT tonsil stones. The ENT said that.

Can those of you who deal with this please message me on FB so we can talk. I started a group on FB called Eagle Syndrome. Please join. Support would be wonderful, to talk to others who have this bone in the back of our throats. x

This is NOT a tonsil stone. Ive had CTs and an ENT verify its a bone/calcification.

Ive had an ultrasound and seen an ENT and Endo. No goiters. This is a bone...actual bone pushing on my right tonsil. ENT thinks Eagle Syndrome but isnt sure. Ive had 2 CTs..1 in 2012 and one this year..no change but the bone sure does hurt..and throb.

Hey, I have the same thing but mine goes away after a few hours up to a day or two. I figured out that it's actually just your uvula enlarging. It feels like it's going down your throat but it actually isnt, it just feels like it. Not for anyone to freak out, but congratulations! Uvulitis!
There isn't much to worry about because it's probably just a little dehydration or possibly you just sleep with your mouth open. I slept last night with my mouth open and this morning I could feel the uvula so that would be my best guess as to how I got it. Just drink water regularly until the feeling goes away.
Hope this helped some of you! :D

My daughter gets something called Tonsilloliths, aka tonsil stones, or tonsil rocks. These are tiny, smelly little rocks that live in her tonsils and she picks them out when they get annoying. The first time she found them they scared both of us to death, but her doctors said they were common. She has had them for about 10 yrs now and is fine otherwise, no Streph throat or tumors or anything.

Hi, I also have a "popping" in my throat that was very worrisome to me. I went to the ENT only to be told it looked normal. I too found that my head position seems directly related since it doesn't happen when I lay back.
