So this has definitely got to be a bitter, sweet thing. I'm 17 and have had horrible experiences with tonsilitis, ear infections, sinus problems, etc. So we finally decided to have them out before I start college. I had them taken out about 7:30am on Tuesday and now It's Thursday night and it's already been a rocky road :/. Right after the surgery I was in a lot of pain when I woke up, but they gave me Morphine and of course I was fine almost immediately. The popsicles right after were incredible. I suggest letting those melt in your mouth 100%. I made it through Tuesday night just fine, woke up Wednesday in a great mood, very minor pain in my throat compared to the aching all over my body. I took a nap from about 4pm to 10pm on Wednesday and woke up incredibly sick, feverish, and the worst thing that could happen, did. I threw up 2-3 times, then passed out. Forgot to take my pain meds and woke up miserable. But, my dad is a doctor, he got me some more medication for my nauseau and I've actually been able to handle a soft taco and a burrito, torn up into little bites of course. STAY ON YOUR PAIN MEDS, don't wait for the pain to just come back. Plenty of cold things, Ice packs, Cream of Chicken soup, Basic Motrin helps. I sure hope all of this is worth it :/ I'm already completely psyched to have a recovery, I miss talking, and food. Always lay down sitting up, to let it drain better, it helps in recovery time I'm told. And whatever you do, don't even attempt to smoke or work with a straw. Not worthh itt.
Finally got the tonsils removed :/
