Hi, this is my first time i'm on the logynon pill, im 21 and i went to my gp to go on it after me and my fiance slept together. when he took my virginity he inserted his penis into my vagina and broke my hymen, then he put a condom on after...this was in february. since then i have had regular periods, but now since i have been on the pill, i have been feeling sick - i did exactly as the instructions said which was to take it on the first day of my period and i would be protected immediately. since i've done that, its been two weeks and every day i've been nauseous. im wondering if it's the pill or i could be pregnant im very worried. what should i do? its been two weeks i have been taking this form of contraception. i keep on getting very tired and hungry too and extremely stressed out. could this just be side effects? i dont know what to do, should i stop taking the pill or should i just continue?
i commend you for going on the pill, however you shouldn't ever have completely unprotected sex if you wish to avoid pregnancy. if your boyfriend has had previous partners have him get an STD check before having sex without a condom because while the pill may protect against pregnancy it offers no protection against STDs. you have had regular periods so you shouldn't be pregnant, you can take an over the counter pregnancy test to avert your worries if you'd like.
my girlfriend has been on the pill for about 8 months and she experienced some quite extreme nausea and dizziness in her first couple of weeks. since then it's been pretty smoothe sailing. she has been on Microgynon 20mg or 25mg (i forget which). the only side effect we've noticed seems to be a bit of irritability and she can become emotional easier than before. though we agree it's a small price to pay in the long run...
