Hello guys

I don't want to alarm anyone, but as someone hugely experienced in this area, it sounds very much to me like those of you who have a smelly discharge from the end of your penis, which is sometimes evident on your underwear, and which goes away temporarily after urination, actually have an STI. SMEGMA, is present with most people, sometimes worse than others, but that is normal and easily controlled through washing. STIs are not normal, obviously, and must be taken care of to prevent spreading, and other risks associated with STIs. Sometimes an STI isn't evident to the senses (you can't see it or smell it) so if you have been sexually active with more than one partner, possibly not having used protection, you should arrange to go to a local clinic and get a sexual health screening. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, it's just a sensible precaution, and you'll learn a LOT, like the difference between smegma and one of the many STIs you could possibly have.

Do this! You won't regret it, and you can do it confidentially.

Any questions just ask.

Something else, when I was in my teens I didn't even know the foreskin was supposed to go back because nobody told me! And with no internet in those days (this was only about 18 years ago... only ha ha) I thought I was the only person in the world with this problem, when I discovered clumps of yellow stuff had actually started to protrude from the foreskin. Without telling anyone, I just started to manipulate the skin (even though it wouldn't go back, I still didn't realise it should) until all the clumps were out. Then, a good bit later, during one of my earliest sexual experiences with another person, they yanked back my foreskin during sex and I screamed in pain. I tried to get the foreskin back into the position where I thought it was supposed to be, then that person gave me some education that was long overdue... So basically, following that, every day, I bit by bit, I pulled my foreskin back a bit further, until several months later, the skin was trained enough, and I could pull it right back. It was still a bit sore and hard to get back for about a year afterwards, and the glans (bulbous bit at the end) was extreeeemely sensitive until it got used to being out there. But now, and actually by a couple of years after that stretching exercise began, my foreskin moved back and forward freely, like it's supposed to with no pain, and I have a normal level of sensitivity under there, and of course, like all of you, the lovely smegma to deal with. But you just keep washing, and you don't even need to use soap, although a mild one is good.

God I can't believe in this day and age parents still don't teach their children the stuff they need to know. Any questions give me a shout.

Okay, thank you to everyone on this blog who asked and answered this question. I'm seventeen and I never learned the importance of pulling back the foreskin and now I found the same yellowish gunk down on the bottom of the head. It hurts really badly when I try to clean, but now that I know that its a build up and I don't have some horrible disease I can be okay. Thanks again guys.

Hey guys I tried applying a mild soap and getting those sh*t out. But only a little came out. Still a very large amount of this yellow sh*t is stuck in the penis. I can't get them out. When I tried to remove them from my fingers it hurt and I couldn't pull the skin up because of the friction. So I need your help. Any ideas?

Just keep working at it, you'll get there. There's no rule that says it has to be done by tomorrow morning.

Do it in the bath/shower and let it get wet or soak it for a while. I don't think you gain anything by using soap. You just need water to soften it and brush it away with your fingers.

I assume you mean your glans is sensitive and that's what hurt. That's normal and the more you touch it the less it will hurt but it takes weeks or even months to get to where it doesn't hurt to touch your glans.

Most likely.

Cleaning it off every time you bathe makes it easy.
