hi people im mew to this

basically i had my last contraceptive jab in May 2012 and didn't go and renew it like i was supposed to. now me and my partner would like ttc. so we had unprotected sex on the 9th jan 2013 and a couple days later had a day or 2 off light pink spotting which i thought was implantation bleeding. the about a week later i had some discharge that was a brownish/dark red color 1 day in the morning. took a test on the 29th Jan which was negative. had unprotected sex on the 29th Jan which if the spotting was my period then i think im in my fertile days. just wondered how long to wait to test to see if we conceived? also don't know how to track periods and ovulation as periods have always been irregular and then non existent while being on and off the jab.

also today (30th Jan) this morning i had some clear and slimy discharge, what does that mean?

HI,

In answer to your quesstion I would say to try and wait until the day that you think your next period should show up. If that's not possible because your periods are so irregular that you cannot track them then wait two weeks at the least and try a pregnancy test. If it turns out negative wait one more week and try another one. If both of these have turned out negative BUT you are having pregnancy symptoms such as :

-tender breasts

-no period

-vomiting

-headaches

-lower back aches and cramps

Then go ahead and wait one more week after your last test and take another if you want to be 100 percent sure that you are or aren't then you can go to your Dr. and ask for a blood test to see if you are pregnant. If that turns out negative as well than you probably aren't pregnant.

If it any of these turn out positive than Congratulations! Your going to be a Mommy!

If you've been trying to conceive than I hope you get to experience the joy of seeing that positive sign on your pregnancy test.

I myself have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years and my husband and I know how difficult it is to see that negative sign...so my advice to you is to stay positive, DON'T STRESS, and keep on trying if it does turn out negative.
