Hi a few months ago I had cob web looking floaters and ⚡flashes, I thought it was my hair blowing best my eye
or bugs were crawling on my bed.. the next day I called eye Dr told them my situation they seen me an hour later, went to the opthamolagist and she said I had bleeding behind the eye, she could also see there was a slight flap, she referred me to a retina specialist.
which he said was the fluid in the back retina was starting to pull away from the retina which happens in age but it was pulling too hard it cause me to have a retina tear he did the procedure that day. I had my eye covered for 6 hours. I followed up a few different times and recently last week he released me from his care, he told me everything look good and he was happy with everything the way it looked. he told me if the floaters start coming back again like more cobwebby things Or I have a flashing light again or a black curtain coming towards my eye to call him immediately. I am now having problems where when I blink it looks like a camera flash and my peripheral vision is dark on the left eye. I don't know if this is the same situation or another problem with my retina but I will be calling my doctor tomorrow to make another appointment to get it checked out. My vision in my left eye is very blurry and it also looks like a puddle of water floating in the lower part of my eye when I look left to right. compared to my right eye I feel like I am slowly losing my vision in my left eye

Look up 'csr'. It's the problem in which fluid gathers under the retina.

I have also been experiencing this in left eye for several weeks now. I have floaters, occasional ocular only migraines, flashers and broken blood vessels now and then. I am quite near-sighted, age 61. I have seen a retinal specialist for some of these symptoms, but not for this. I am guessing it will be PVD aging eye stuff again, but it stresses me out every time there's something new! Will be checking it out with my eye doctor next week. (This is the first forum that matches what I have been experiencing.)

I also had a line flash in right eye when blinking, had it for several weeks. New eye doc checked very thoroughly and said it was a floater that she could see when she dilated my eye. I go back in a month to check it again. She checked for holes and tears in retina and found none. Relieved that I finally checked it out.

Hi there... same thing on my right eye... it happens at random times that when i blink this white ball appears at the corner of my eye and just disappears.. my optometrist didnt quite make anything of it.. but when i went to see an opthalmogist, he mentioned that i have a freckle at the back of my right eye which is causing that white ball... he said it was nothing to be worried about just that we would need to monitor it every 6 months to be sure it doesnt enlarge and turn out to be a melanoma or cancer... yikes..

Doctor did not see anything troubling. It is still happening... pretty annoying, for sure.

Here's the answer: Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (swelling in the retina)
And here's how to confirm that this is what you have: Go to an ophthalmologist and ask for an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scan.

I have the exact symptoms of the first poster. I had written down every suggested diagnosis that I could find in this forum thread, and took them to my optometrist. She gave me a very thorough exam and could find nothing wrong with my retina. She also ruled out everything on my list.

So then I went to an ophthalmologist and she had all kinds of images and tests taken. At the end of the day, it was the OCT scan that revealed the issue, clear as day. The shape of the swelling on one of the images was the exact shape of the orb/flash that I see in my eye when (and after) I blink.

The ophthalmologist said that it may go away on its own after a few months, or it may not. If it doesn't, there's an option to fix it with a laser, but that's more of a last resort option because there's a chance that it may leave a permanent scar which will be visible in the field of vision.

Your post could have been written about me except I'm 57. Had a slight tear in R retinadiscoverrd abt 5 years ago when I went to my optometrist for a biig floater in left eye. She sent me to retina specialist who did immediate laser surgery on R eye. He found no prob other than big floater in L eye. Been 5 yrs and L floater still there. My ocular migraines come and go. Today 7-26-2018 is first day I noticed the 'camera shutter' flash. Very bright day in South Alabama but I had sunglasses on. I'm a little un-nerved as I also had a weird balance issue when I got out of car. Didn't fall and it immediately passed. Anyone have any helpful ideas?

It started with a bright flash only from the right side of my right eye in the early 90s.It stopped after a few years. Now I see radiant rings sometimes when I close my eyes especially more frequent in the shower with water running over my head. The rings actually looks like an illuminated donut and gets brighter the longer I focus on it. It doesn't frighten me I try to stay focus on it to see how illuminated it can become. This has been happening for years off an on. Started in the late 90s now 9/14/2018

You guys I also get ocular migranes and I’m experiencing exactly this in my lower right eye! But it’s different than my migraines, it’s constant and appears when I blink

So glad to find this and this is what I have noticed. I juts started taking a Vitamin K supplement, having read that it might aid in care against future osteoporosis. 500 mcg. I have taken this for 4 days now and the flashes started yesterday in my right eye, when I move my eye to the right or abruptly back and forth. I just tossed the K's in the trash as I saw a comment in here about abusing vitamin K and that the clotting it caused, could make changes in vision. That we get plenty of K in our diets and this addition is not necessary...Read up on Vitamin K and this might help some of you. Here's hoping. I am also an avid eye rubber. When they itch, I rub them but have done this for years. This flashing was just in the last few days and I have decent eye site otherwise. Am hoping that getting this excessive K out of my system will clear up this new and annoying issue.
