So glad to find this and this is what I have noticed. I just started taking a Vitamin K supplement, having read that it might aid in care against future osteoporosis. 500 mcg. I have taken this for 4 days now and the flashes started yesterday in my right eye, when I move my eye to the right or abruptly back and forth. I just tossed the K's in the trash as I saw a comment in here about abusing vitamin K and that the clotting it caused, could make changes in vision. That we get plenty of K in our diets and this addition is not necessary...Read up on Vitamin K and this might help some of you. Here's hoping. I am also an avid eye rubber. When they itch, I rub them but have done this for years. This flashing was just in the last few days and I have decent eye site otherwise. Am hoping that getting this excessive K out of my system will clear up this new and annoying issue.

Hello, I'm only fourteen and I've just gotten ready for bed. Something fell and it scared me and I started seeing this spot in my right eye. It's like a shadow, it moved away when I looked at it. A few moments after I started blinking and there were these little flashes of light like what happened here, I looked it up and everything said I had a torn retina. It's making me feel scared. Could anyone know what it might be? Please, I'm only 14. I don't want my parents to think I've gone nuts. (Plus everyone's asleep and it's just happened now)

I’ve been noticing a straight vertical line on my right eye only in the dark when a single light source is nearby and only when I blink, has anyone figured out what this is??

Hi.
While I can't diagnose your condition or provide medical advice, I can mention a few possibilities that could be explored further with a healthcare professional:
1, Visual migraine: Some individuals experience visual disturbances known as "aura" before a migraine headache. These auras can manifest as various shapes, lines, or rings in the field of vision.
2. Floaters or vitreous changes: Floaters are small specks or particles that drift across the visual field and are common, particularly in individuals with near-sightedness. Sometimes, changes in the vitreous humor (gel-like substance in the eye) can cause these floaters to appear differently or become more noticeable.
3. Optic nerve issues: The optic nerve carries visual information from the eye to the brain. If there is any dysfunction or pressure on the optic nerve, it could potentially cause visual disturbances. This is less likely if your ophthalmologist didn't find any issues during the examination.
4. Other eye conditions: Although you mentioned that your ophthalmologist found nothing concerning, there are other eye conditions that can cause visual symptoms. These might include issues like retinal detachment, glaucoma, or macular degeneration. These conditions may not always be immediately apparent and could require further evaluation.
Have you got it checked? And is this condition accompanied by any other symptoms?
