My daughter (16) just started experiencing this last month. She is in complete misery, and I feel terrible that there's not a thing I can do to help her.

I have had this same problem for many years, except that recently I went on the contraceptive pill for around 18 months.  My 2-week PMS disappeared, so that instead of two weeks of fuzzy brain, fatigue, sore throat, tenderness etc., I had much milder symptoms for only about two days.  Cramping was much less severe too.  I noticed another woman here said the same - that the pill helped her a lot, and her general mood was better.  Life is so much lighter when you don't spend 2 weeks of each month in a daze.

Two months ago I went off the pill and here I am hunting around on the internet for help after getting my period last week and feeling feverish, tired, and unable to function for over a week.  I'm tempted to go back on the pill except I think I need to go to a doctor to find out if there's anything underlying in my hormonal functioning that needs looking at.

Hi , I have some symptoms like what your describing , try ( EFT) it is a simple technique called emotional freedom technique , it is very helpful , it is effective as shown by studies to eliminate many disease symptoms , also try hypnosis , there are many hypnosis for period troubles .. I think it deserve a try , especially that it has no side effect .. Wish u all the best

my time I have my menstration. I get the worst headaches neckache backache and fatigue. when I had a doctor check me out they told me I had PCOS. I was put on projesteron which seemed to help a little but it is very expensive. close to $200 a month. I have since gotten off the progesterone and am still suffering from flu like symptoms with menstration. it is possible that you could see if your hormone levels indicate PCOS.

hello, I have had the same symptoms for a couple of years and my doctor prescribed Tranexamic Acid tablets which are amazing at massively reducing the amount of blood lost during your period. This in turn helped my WBC count which helps with energy. It changed my life completely for the first year. I'm getting flu symptoms again a year on, but probably because I've got bad at taking the Tranexamic Acid and stopped with my iron pills. Might be worth a try. I hope you find something soon. You need to get these on prescription.

I have these symptoms. Well, the flu like synptoms only happened this period, but every month I have a really heavy flow, extreme moodiness and debilitating fatigue, cramps migraines, bloating to the point of being asked if I'm expecting, and this month, for the first time also swelling in my hands and feet. My son had the blood test for celiac and he had enough of the strands for it that they made me stop giving him gluten. I feel like it's likely I have an allergy to it as well. And I am deathly allergic to quinoa. I usually avoid gluten but I've had it a few times this month. I wonder if it COULD be related.

It is a disturbing trend in this day and age that women, the carers and nurturers are becoming sick. Suffering every month from fatigue and aches is awful. I just want to feel good and healthy, but in this world, becoming full of pollution to food, the water, the air, is it any wonder we are sick? I just found an article on the affects of EMF (electromagnectic frequencies) or the effects of cell phones, wifi's on our body and the evidence is disturbing. If anyone is at a loss to what to do, try researching this. Very interesting, and relevant to how people are getting sick. If you lived somewhere with good food, clean water, and air, no EMF's, would you still be sick?

This probably means your having a reaction to your tampons called toxic shock syndrome. mahbe try seeing a different doctor

It seems you have the symptoms of a thyroid disorder.

Toxic shock doesn't present as flu-like symptoms before you've even inserted a tampon....
