John S writing back - had the P.P.H. surgery on Dec 18th. It's Saturday the 26th. My only complaint on this surgery - everyone that got near me (nurses, docs, etc.) was sniffling, coughing, runny nose and such - so I ended up with a killer cold. Nice. Been fine all winter and I'm sure that the surgery dragged down my imune system.

The end result of this surgery for me - no pain, still taking some stool softeners (the doctor should have pushed these more), no beef, lots of fish, lots of fruit and O.J., some "pressure" (on occassion I have to concentrate on peeing - very strange) - but overall - this was not ANYTHING like I was reading - Thank God.

It certainly sounds to me like the surgeon (no pain meds? - not nice) has a very large impact on the end result. It also makes me wonder why more of "us" don't ask to talk to actual patients ???? Like that could happen!
