I've had vertigo for 2 wks now & a foul taste in mouth for just under that.  I started smoking again after that as I was told it could be nicotine withdrawal. The taste is whats bugging me, it comes from the right side of my mouth.  Dentist says nothing wrong with my teeth. No fever, no sore throat, no pain or swelling. Please help as I can't eat or drink because of this slimy foul taste.
The taste is not metallic or acidic.  Its just oily putrid slime.

Firstly, starting smoking doesn't solve anything it probably made it worse when if you had persisted, it would if worked itself out but I know you know that :) Our bodies are designed to expell toxins in all sorts of ways and we store toxins in all sorts of places. Many people will excrete built up toxins if smoking in the flesh of our mouths and throats. As your body is renewing and cleansing it will shed off and excrete dead or toxin riddled cells creating a horrible taste. It's a sign of how close you probably came to getting a form of mouth cancer. Embrace it. Unpleasant but push through it will go away. Drink, suck on candies, do whatever you have to do and it will pass.
