Hi guys. I knew about this forum for a while because it was very informative in that I was able to read about things that I was going through. I finally joined the forum today because I am in a bit of a dilemma.
Just now, I saw in my email inbox that my doctor at Planned Parenthood emailed me this morning and asked me to call them about my urine lab results.
I can't even call them now because the clinic is closed and I can call in tomorrow but otherwise if I don't get an answer, I have to wait until Monday. So I really am freaking out! On Tuesday, they told me that I have a UTI and they prescribed Macrobid for me to take for 5 days. I picked up the prescription yesterday and I am taking it now and I am also on birth control pills. I am feeling better now when I am urinating, it doesn't hurt anymore.
But NOW I am wondering and scared about why they would want me to call them now. I knew the nurse practitioner said they still have to ship the urine off to a lab to make sure its the usual bacteria in the sample (E.coli) even though they already know I have a UTI. But now I am freaking out because I am worried of maybe they found something else, like maybe I am pregnant or I have some other infection. Personally, its very unlikely for me to pregnant as I have used protection with no problem and I did get my period this month.
So what I would like to know from you guys is: do you think they would have known that I am pregnant even though I didn't ask them to test for pregnancy? Also, what do you think they could be wanting me to call them for? I just hope it isn't anything serious :( because first of all, I absolutely do not want to be pregnant as I cannot support a child and I am from a Muslim household so that is definitely unacceptable to the family. Don't even get me started on finding out if I have another infection!
Post away guys!
You don't have your period while on birth control. I don't.
Actually several people get their period on birth control...I'm one of those people so I now.
Actually women can get their periods while on birth control I know several people that have including myself so thats one wrong peice of info.Shushmi I'm personally not a doctor but my best advice to you is calm down and give the clinic a call tomorrow.I pretty much doubt that your pregnant for one you had your period and two you are on birth control and probably use another form of contreception as well. Its probably either something involving your UTI or maybe just a call back to see how the meds were working. But like I said I'm not a doctor.Best of luck to you and I hope this helps.
Actually I should have clarified something...when I got my period, it was before I started the birth control pills. I started the pills 3 days after my period started.
Anyways thank you...I really hope you're right. I do hope I get some answer over the phone.
