Yeah ok, im 20 years old. Me and my girlfriend recently had sex. It was just like any other time but when i pulled out there was blood over my penis and my girlfriend. I looked for a cut or something and I found that my frenulum was tore. I am just wondering if it should be checked by a doctor or should it heal on its own? Also any advice would be great on what to do.
Hi,
You should probably get it checked. It may/may not heal correctly and can tear again easily. The doctor, preferably a urologist, can determine why it tore and if necessary can "tweak" it to get some additional length. Basically it is a couple of little incisions to release some more skin. It all depends on how badly the tear is though. It is called a "frenuloplasty" and is done in the office.
If you decide not to go, wear a condom and use lots of lube while it heals. Then be very careful during sex or it may tear again. Again, using a condom can help reduce the chance of tearing.
Hope that helps, keep us posted.

What would happen if it tore all the way?
OK,
I'm not sure, I'm not a urologist. My concern would be that as it starts to heal then the resulting scar tissue could even make it shorter and more likely to tear in the future. It must also be fairly painful.
If it tore all the way you really need to get it looked at. At this point it is probably too late for stitches, yes they actually will do that, as healing has begun.
Wish I could help you better, please keep us posted.

Ok.. I had torn frenulum in Nov 2008. It never quite healed without having some discomfort during sex.
One month ago I have frenoplasty. And it has made it much worse. Perhaps it is just oo early to assess.. but all the stitches are gone. Right now, because the attahcment is a slightly different spot - actually on the glan (hope that makes sense) - it is *really* painful to push for the initial penetration during sex.
If the foreskin does not retract then it is ok... but I have gone from very very frequent sex, to actively trying to avoid it because of the pain. If it continues like this will probably have to start wondering about my reasons to keep living.
Am not happy... really, really not happy.
