I have started to realize that a laugh a lot and in very "not usually laughable" situations.

If someone is having a serious conversation with me, I find it hard not to smile and I get in a lot of trouble for it. I usually end up biting my tongue, covering my mouth, or other things in these situations.

It only started happening now, but when I cry due to stress (more of disappointment in myself, I am a perfectionist) I start crying and start laughing really loudly. Once a teacher starts talking to me, I calm down.

This happened today, but I was watching TV with my mom and she said she was going to move without me and I had to take a shower. She said I could take one in the same time as when the next show started. I was telling her to not go on and don't start without me, when I started laughing wildly, and could only stop when I got to my room. (Not the first time something like this has happened)

I also seem to laugh in situations where I there is an awkward silence or tension sometimes.

Does anyone know why?

Could be social anxiety? My friend with social anxiety laughs in inappropriate situations quite often, when she doesn't know what to say she just starts laughing..
