I had posted more than a year ago to this forum, saying I had exact same issues. Since then I've tried almost everything related under the sun, eliminating the ones that don't work over time and settling on 1-2 things that worked.
Now, my problem seems to be cured for the most part. I have a theory of what happened to most of us (going over the thread I don't think everyone necessarily has the same issue):
- There are friendly bacteria in the gut (intestines) that help our digestion. Together with some other bacteria they form the intestinal flora (this is an oversimplification).
- Typically the bacteria that are good for us outnumber the bad ones and there is a delicate balance there.
- We absolutely need these bacteria for digestion, human body cannot digest everything on its own.
- Something strong (like antibiotics, serious illness/diarrhea) or random (like moving to a warmer/colder climate, or damage to other part of body) can change this delicate balance and result in some of the beneficial bacteria to die.
- Without these bacteria the digestion becomes problematic and cause symptoms mentioned in this thread.
So a logical attempt to recover from this problem is to add more helpful bacteria to the column. There are multiple methods for this but the simplest is to eat/drink foods with probiotic properties. There also are probiotic pills but they are expensive and their efficiency is not really well understood according to my research.
Probiotic foods are typically the fermented ones, such as:
- Milk Kefir
- Water Kefir
- Yogurt
- Pickles
What gave me relief was drinking 1-2 glasses of home made milk kefir a day for a few weeks - I still do because I feel the benefits. Some sites claim that there is 1 trillion beneficial bacteria in one glass of milk kefir (vs 50 billion in the most expensive proiotic pills). Google how to make kefir at home and try it for 1 week. If that is your problem you'll see some of your symptoms decline in a few days - it definitely did in my case.
I hope this is of help to you and best of luck in curing your problem.
FYI, I also tried a bunch of other things but I stopped them as I didn't feel they were effective: Magnesium, Vitamin K2, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Zinc

I have the same problem. Farting sounds coming from my lower bowel, vibrations, bubbling feeling and sounds. I noticed it about 3 months ago.
I am 32 years old, and at the age of 24, I had h-pylori infection (had an endoscopy and colonsophy), then again when I was 28, I had h-pylori infection again (had an endoscopy and colonosphy), now I had h-pylori like symptoms last year and I suffered for months with it. Finally I went to the Emergency Room last September, I explained to the doctor I have had h-pylori before and I know I just needed the anti-biotic. Well, he only gave me one of the two antibiotics that I needed. It got better, but didn't go away.
Now, I have insurance (Thanks to Obamacare), and I went to my gastroenterologist, TODAY I had an endoscopy and colon done and he found a poloup, but everything else looked normal. He sent the poloup out for examination. I have probiotics in my fridge that I began taking today, they are 50 Billion pills. I will take 2 a day for 5 days and then switch to one a day.
This is so frustrating when you are sick and there is no help!
I am in New Jersey by the way

I've had this problem for the past three years now, I'm 19 so it started when I was around 16 and got worse with time. I know I shouldn't let this ruin my life but I've really had enough of this. I'm not saying I'm going to end my life of course but I've just had enough of having to go to the bathroom twice before my classes (I'm in college) and not being able to enjoy having conversatins with people in quite spaces. This really affected my self confidence, I don't even try to look for a girlfriend, how would I spend intimate time with her with my stomach making all those noises. I can't imagine spending my whole life with this. At this point I'm not even asking for all the symptms to go away (discomfort, nausea,..) but just for the rumbles.
I know it sounds so dumb to let such a small thing ruin one's life, and I may have exagerated my situation, I mean I still have friends and everything, but I just feel horrified by the idea of living with that condition all my life. I went to the doctor and he says I might be lactose intolerant and the rumbles do get better when I don't consume dairy products but are still there. He made me take a colonoscopy during which the doctors didn't find anything but a high TSH level meaning I might have hypothyroidism which I don't really know what I'm supposed to do about , my doctor hasnt' been really helpful.
I'll try the different recomendations I found on this site and will be posting if anything helps. I already know drinking water improves the situation.
Sorry for the long post but it feels nice to open up about this to people who can actually relate. Other people don't really understand how this can be a real problem.

THE ANSWER!
In 6 months I have had stomach growling and of course that annoying anus growling that makes people think it's a fart. I started to search for an answer, and though that I had IBS or leaky gut. Then I found this - He basically says that his IBS-D has been cured. I though I should give it a try. I took 3 grams in the morning (1 teaspoon) and 3 grams in the evening with cold water, and after a couple of days, the growling started to stop, permanantly since it's a building block for proteins and it builds, not stimulates like most of the drugs people buys.
Hope it helps your case.
