I have this too, and i think a majority of people do. I think its just gas and fluid moving about. I get gurgles in my stomach, intestines, and rectum. Once i learned to just not care so much it went down, and i dont have to fear going to class anymore. I hear other people all the time, abd they awkwardly shift in their seat but i dont judge cause it happens to everyone. Nor does anyone care your gut made a noise.

Diverticulitis
I would look that up for both of you two.
Sadly age probably has nothing to do with it and all to do with poor diet, low fiber, lack of water, and processed foods now a-days.

I'm sorry, but it's almost impossible for a person to "have" IBS. IBS is a symptom, like headache or fever - it's not a disease. It's a hugely common misconception that many people have that IBS is a diagnosis, when in reality, it's something that needs to be investigated further. That's what I've been told by a few docs anyway. So I don't think it's a good idea to give people a false sense of security by informing them that they have what is, in essence, a collection of symptoms - it's no substitute for getting those symptoms diagnosed and treating the underlying cause.

I wish you luck with your problem... and mine, as I have similar symptoms!

One more thing: have you tried fasting and/or food combining? In the past I've managed to get rid of my symptoms for quite long periods of time by doing this. It's what the doc usually recommends before she orders tests, and about 2/3 of the time it really helps.

Thank you so much for the advice! It is REALLY a big issue, I've been dodging it for a long time now (28yrs of age) and I'm going to try the probiotics.
I also certainly think that water, (and for me a small amount of soda here & there to burp & alleviate some of the gas) helps. I drink milk with a honey bun and it sometimes helps pretty well, as the milk and honey bun combined fills me and soothes my stomach.
Also, try talking to people about it in the best way you can to help them understand, given it is seriously a quite embarrassing thing to have happen in a room full of quiet people. Best of luck to you all, hang in there!!!

I've had this same problem for about 6 years now. It is the WORST. I'm now 27 and this problem has caused me so much anxiety. In class, at work, I am constantly stressed out that these noises will happen. I've gone vegan, i've cut out gluten, I've cut out dairy, caffeine, and it is kind of killing me. Nobody seems to understand.

The only things that have helped me are cutting out gluten, gas-x, and drinking kombucha (which I have one of every time I have class and there will be a silent classroom), and these pills I got from Whole Foods, and sometimes not eating lunch before I have a meeting. It seems that random foods cause this problem too, it is hard to know. I think I am going to try going vegan again and cutting out sugar and doing green juices every morning.

We will see. Nice to know I'm not alone.

Just curious, are you all female? I had non-stop rumbling and issues for the years that I breast-fed. Of course, my male doctors thought I was crazy for thinking there might be a hormonal connection. But the minute I stopped nursing, everything cleared up. Now I'm mid-40's and having issues again, and as I think it might be connected to menopause and hormones, I get the silent eye-rolls again.

This is actually bizarre I thought I was the only one having these problems. I am also a 19 year old male I have had acid reflux problems on and off for about a year and was on Nexium 2 months ago which solved that issue and was previously on Minocycline for acne about 3 months before that and I have been having these intestine problems for about a month now after having fish and chips one night.

Basically I have this pain mainly in my lower left abdomen along with passing a lot of gas with intestinal discomfort constantly all day every day. I have already had blood tests, an ultrasound, gastroscopy and the next step is a colonoscopy. I still have mild acne on my face as well and I have been trying probiotics but they don't seem to be doing a whole lot I might need to switch brands but these issues I am having is really affecting my quality of life the last couple of months have been miserable and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with me nor can the doctors. It just seems so strange that this time last year I was really enjoying life and now i'm just dealing with this, I already decided to take a semester of uni and have been doing less work because of this really just trying to find a way to solve this.

hi, I am from Malaysia. Just accidentally read your post. Actually, I also suffer the bowel movements sound. My stool is watery and shapeless. It was very embarrassing if I did this everyday movement in public toilets. My stomach was also always growling. But recently these problems have solved.
I have been taking cereal + chia seed + chia seed drinks. These things can improve our digestion.
Besides, I also do easy-to-do exercise every day. I do clapping hands 1500 times, clapping feet soles 500 times, and rotate wrist and ankle joints 300 rounds. This therapies I have been practicing for around 10 days.
I believe many ailments couldn't be solved through medication, and many illnesses couldn't be identified by docs too. So we need to take nutritious food, sleep before 11 p.m, reduce stress, and most important thing do some exercises to enhance our metabolism and health.
Hope to hear you soon. Good luck.

Reduce carbs. Definitely reduce sugar! Smaller, more frequent meals. Avoid gas producing foods.

I find if I’m going through a bad spell with it, and that includes all of the symptoms you’ve all talked about, diatomaceous earth helps massively. Make sure it’s food grade!!! It’s easy to get hold of. I buy mine from Amazon. Don’t breathe it in, it’s not at all good for your lungs. I put two teaspoons in a small glass of apple squash, or any other no added sugar squash or cordial. Don’t use a metal spoon. I have plastic measuring spoons. Stir well and drink quick, it’s a bit gritty. Not the nicest thing you’ve ever drank, but it works for me. Absorbs gas, cleans the inside of your digestive tract, bulks up your stools which helps those who feel they really need to go but can only pass watery mucus.
You’ll want to drink plenty of water because it will make you feel dehydrated if you don’t, and you’ll likely get constipated, further aggravating symptoms and perpetuating the whole cycle.
For those who feel this is related to antibiotics, you’re probably correct. They wreak havoc with your gut bacteria. Get a good probiotic, start slowly with them and build your tolerance otherwise you’ll just ditch them within a few days because they tend to make you feel worse before you feel better.

Hope this is a help to someone, because I do understand the impact this has on day to day life.

I definitely think this is related to antibiotics. I started having this problem after my last year of high school when I took monoclycline for acne.

Recently, I've started taking Kimberly Snyder'd probiotics and detoxy (1 per night of each) and it's been really helping. I've also got the most part cut out sugar because I've noticed how much this aggravates the issue. Not like fruit or anything but just obvious sugars like sweets and I always check the sugar label and try to get only 20 grams max per day. This is kind of hard and gets annoying sometimes but I would do anything not to have this problem. also I've completely cut out gluten which also seems to help. Wish you guys luck! Also I would recommend seeing a naturopath! They have helped me on and off with this problem
