I've been having these same problems for a couple of years I think? Anyway, I just attributed this to me being lactose intolerant. However, even when not eating any dairy product, I get these symptoms. I also have some other ailments that I would prefer not to discuss, but I think the problem you're all suffering from could be a male yeast infection.

The more common symptoms of male yeast infection are constipation, bad breath, bloating, indigestion, frequent intestinal gas, frequent diarrhea, very loose stools, sexual dysfunction, irratibility and mood swings, fatigue or lack of energy, memory loss, jock itch, dry itchy flaky skin, athletes feet, and prostate problems.
You may also develop a craving for sweets, pastas, chips, etc. Any of the foods that feed the male yeast infection since the parasite demands to be fed, and you will more than likely feed it, until you realize you have it, and do something about it.
I will be going to the doctor very soon, if it is indeed the issue at hand, I will let you know.

I have been getting these rectal gurgling noises and rectal vibrations for around 9 months. They sometimes occur when I have stomach gas, and others times completely randomly. The problem is, these noises and vibrations sound exactly like stomach noises, except they come from my rectum!. Did anyone ever find out the solution to these problems that we have all been having?

I recently went to see a gp, hoping he will refer me to a gastro-whatever specialist and tried telling him that i have been having this for years and it is quite seriously affecting my day to day life. But he just felt around my abdomen areas with his hand and asked me if it pained, which it didn't. So he said there's nothing serious and just asked me to have peppermint water, which he said I would get in the pharmacies. But it was not available in the pharmacy. I went to Holland and Barrot's where pepperming oil was available which you are supposed to dilute and consume. It was having a pretty strong smell in spite of just a couple of drops in a glass full of water. But I tried this for a couple of weeks, and didn't find any difference.
So haven't had the chance to do any tests or anything but after reading your posts I get a feeling we just have to live with this :-(...I was hopeful there might be some treatment and I just hadn't got the chance or time to try it.
Anyway, some natural treatments I have been adviced by well wishers for this problem is to have frequent smaller quantity of meals instead of having larger meals with long gaps. Especially I have been adviced not to delay or skip breakfast. And ofcourse good healthy diet, lots of water etc., high fibre diet for the constipation problems The problem for me is my work life does not allow me to fit in some of these things and my problems are only getting worse.
The other thing I noticed is it depends a lot on my lifestyle, for e.g. on weekends I am generally ok, but horrible on weekdays when I go for work. Differences in my lifestyle on these two cases are: on weekends, I get up late, wait for my nature's call, which usually comes immediately after I have had my coffee (but problem gets worse if I respond late) let my stomach settle down for an hour or so after freeing it up, have home cooked breakfast of a good quantity, and then regular lunch dinner etc., home cooked non-oily food. Wheras on the weekdays, I get up early, have hot water to get bowel movement, finish it quickly, travel an hour to work, have a couple of muffin sized breads I get for free at workplace. By this time the problems have already started and I have leaked gas (I try to do it in an open area or outside so it doesn't annoy anyone) a lot many times than I do on weekends, and the noises, bloating etc. has already started. By lunch time it is at its peak. Having a couple of fruits in between doesn't help either. It has been affecting my productivity so much given I work in an ultra competitive IT job with long hours of sitting in the same place and generally about 10 hours a day shifts. And if I don't get rid of some of the gas, which usually wants to come out with full flow when I am sitting at my desk but just wouldn't come out when I get up and go to a suitable area, I just end up working less than half my productivity. The other thing that affects the uneasiness is that on weekends I wear a lose tracks or pyjamas that don't bother my stomach so much and I can sit how I want, but on weekdays when I sit straight wearing my jeans or formal trousers, it sort of presses against my bloated stomach and sort of increases the noises, discomfort, and toilet urges.
But anyway the problems are only getting worse and these days when I am alone my flatulence makes a big noise, I think it is just a time bomb before I get myself embarassed some day some where. If you ask me for an honest advice I would give you this from experience:
1. Follow the frequent healthy meals pattern if possible. Never leave your stomach empty but don't stuff it with too much. I still think these problems have been caused because I used to stuff food into my stomach beyond its capacity because people used to make fun of me because I was very thin and weak.
2. Lots of water.
3. And, I think the most important of all, find a lifestyle that will let you deal or live with your problem. Do not get into an IT job for example, good to do something that doesn't involve sitting all day.
4. Don't breath through your mouth. I vaguely remember reading this somewhere and I know I do a lot of breathing through my mouth because I can't help it as my nose has a deviation and is a bit blocked most times, and also I have symptoms of asthma and low endurance.
If all else fails, we could try these atleast.
Also, right from my childhood days, I have had a wierd problem which I have never heard anyone have. One fine day, say once in 6 months or so, my stomach decides not to digest an otherwise harmless food that I eat often. My body announces this shortly after I eat by giving me a strong pain on the left side of my head. And after 3 or 4 hours I used to vomit this undigested food out and the pain immediately vanishes. As this started happening more and more, I started doing the vomitting part forcefully to get rid of the pain (and it works every single time, just that I have to struggle to somehow get the undigested food out!) Wierd, but don't know how, one of my family doctors said this is also due to the general gas problem I have.
I know the above posts are a bit old, but I just came in hope of getting some solution for this problem. All the best to you guys, let know if you have managed to workaround or reduce this problem somehow. Thank you.

Does anyone also have several bowel movements in the morning OR have noises in their rectum area? Yes
I think had a similar problem I get the same noises sometimes usually in the mornings and in school which are (i'm pretty sure) a result of anxiety, as I resently started collage which made me nervous especially around new people. I wanted to create good immpression (which is hard if your constantly worried about making noises. I also untill recently haden't usually been able to go to the toilet in puiblic toilets, however I decided this was stupid and since then when I need the loo (even if it's in a place I wouldn't normally go) instead of forcing myself to wait until I got home I find it hard to hold it without makeing growling sounds.
I recently went on a school trip which made the problem so much worse as lessons were very quiet and small so I was so much more nervous, I got the same urges to go to the loo when I didnt acctually need it and was so worried sometimes I started shaking. My problem (I think) is a result of anxiety and sometimes acctually needing the loo but not going. I find the easiest way to controll it is to relax instead of tensing up, as when I'm at home I have no problem. I also found that eating breakfast (I dont normally eat anything I just drink tea) didn't help, I only ever got pain when I didn't go to the loo for long periods of time which was really uncomfortable.
I'm no doctor but it soundy similar to IBS as it ranges from person to person and can be brought on by stress. My mum has IBS and certain foods upset her (you may have become allergic to specific foods) she gets the same pain you describe, blotedness and needing the loo. Also you may simply be anxious (because you think you might make the noises ) which doesn't help and just makes the problem worse.
I hope in some may this helps, at least I knwo that It's not just me :)
