When I read your post, I immediately identified with it, after ping ponging from one possibility to another trying to heal with all manner of methods for what I believed the malady may be at the time. It was driving me mad and broke. Long ago, I remembered having gassy diarrhea for months having picked it up traveling. Without any testing my dr. gave me sulfa (Bactrim) for like two weeks and it went away. 15 years later, I have a similar, gassy diarrhea but with with rumbling and burping as well. I never knew there was a name for this, sibo. The many doctors I've seen never considered it or apprised me of it and it failed to show on tests as Doctors not have entertained the idea. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your post has been like finding a diamond..

Thanks for the information. I was diagnosed IBS and later with microscopic colitis (caused by taking NSAIDs for an extended time for inflammation from arthritis) a few years ago and have been on maintenance for that ever since taking Apriso and Budesinide (a low absorption steroid) daily. This year, I've had several unusual episodes lasting one day to a few hours of severe diarrhea and followed by daily loose stools, gas and bloating, cramping and discomfort. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy but all I see are more pills. Keep thinking I have parasites or something else other than all the daily pandemic stress out there. Glad to see some feedback on issues I'm also facing with no real answers

This sounds a lot like what I’m going through! I’m going to ask my dr about this. Thanks!

Thank you for your post, which gives me some hope. Ironically, my symptoms are almost identical to yours. They thought I had celiac because there was damage to my small intestines but the blood work for celiac was negative. I started with feelings of nausea and periodic vomiting, thinking it was food related. I went to an allergist and was told I had no food allergies. I also had bloating, pale stools and cramping with heartburn and loss of appetite. I lost 30 lbs and have been through every test, mostly all normal. I have been doing my own research for two years and asked my doctor to test me for several things, including gastric emptying study and test for SIBO and lactose intolerance. This led to the diagnosis of lactose intolerance and SIBO (with methane gas, which they say is not common). I took the same two meds you did (but not for 90 days of erythromycin) but my bloating remains and in addition to this, now I have the horrible constant grumbling and foul gas and multiple bowel movements every day. I ask the doctor if they would test me again for the SIBO but they said they don't do that. Well, maybe the first bout of antibiotics wasn't enough and I am now going to request another hydrogen breath test and ask for the urine test! Even though he originally said he wasn't convinced I had celiac, everything else was ruled out so they're going with celiac. Well, after reading your post and the many others, I'm determined to get to the bottom of this! Thanks again!
