HI, I am 25 and have been taking about 10-12 of percocets a day, I have been on them for about a year. If I go cold turkey on this amount what can I expect, and is there a chance I would be able to do it and quit for good? Can I DIE??! I am sooo scaried. Just want my life back! Any tips???
Usually it’s recommended that you start tapering off Percocet, mainly because two weeks of gradual lowering dose are enough. You’re in danger now, not by withdrawal symptoms – the amount of Acetaminophen you are taking now is seriously dangerous for your liver - and even those people who are taking the medication as prescribed and are not psychologically addicted to Percocet will experience withdrawal symptoms like yawning, restlessness, insomnia, even diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. They usually peak at 48 to 72 hours and then lessen, but are present for about a week or so. So, start lowering the dose and good luck!
ask your doctor or go on line and put in suboxone we are here to help it will get you off the the drug you are taking now with out any withdrawl it really works
Thank you soooo much for responding! I really appreciate it. I am on day one of quiting cold turkey. I feel ok so far. But I know it will probably get worse. I can't tapper because I will just end up taking more then I should. So I don't really have a choice. I can't get in to see my doctor until Jan 14th.. SO i don't really have a choice. I am scared!! But I really really want to be free of this!!! :-))

You know, by January you should be well off Percocet so I really think it’s pointless for him to get addicted to Suboxone - another even stronger narcotic - when redbed11 has already started to move away from his addiction. This member has done cold turkey withdrawal herself and Cocodomal contains Codeine same as Percocet does. Here is the link to her experience
