Hello All,

I am new here and wanted to give a quick shout out of how proud I am of everyone trying to get off the opiates. IT IS NO WAY TO LIVE. I know this because I have taken 100mg of Hydrocodone a day for the last three years. I have a 10 year old son and I was never emotionally avaiable for him. I went to a walk in clinic and came out with a month supply of Suboxone. The first two days I took the prescribed 8ml. The third and forth day I cut that down to 4mg with no problem. The fifth and sixth day I cut my dose down to 2mg. with no problem. It DOES get a little worse after this but still doable. The sixth through fourteeth day I took 1mg a day. I was feeling a little achey and depressed but still able to work. The fourteenth through the twenty fifth day I cut my dose to .5mg a day. I jumped off at .5mg on the twenty sixth day. This is my third day off and the withdrawals have been doable. Not great but manageable. I am hoping that they don't start tomorrow but Suboxone has a long half life. I am 80hours off the drug right now and feel ok except a little out of it. I will post tomorrow and let you all know of the other shoe drops. I HOPE NOT.
You can feel free to post here whether a shoe drops or not! Hopefully you'll find that we're all helpful and welcoming so you can feel supportive in getting rid of this. Do you have a real-life support group too? I know that can help quite a bit because you will probably have some sort of symptoms at some time that may be hard to handle. Keep us posted on how this goes for you!
