It is totally normal to get sleepy after taking a meal. Do not strain yourself by worrying.

Like you, I don't believe my sleepiness after eating is something normal. Never thought about liver issues. Hmmm??!!

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I too try to avoid the foods that cause the most problem. As a matter of fact, it is a must or I would probably lose my job.

I'm female, 57, and it only recently started happening and isn't normal for me. The sleepiness does feel like I've been drugged and MUST sleep. Sometimes I'll doze for what seems like a couple minutes when I'm at home on the weekends and 'wake up' feeling like a new person; or, I may sleep a couple hours! When I'm at work I can fight it off by increasing the intensity of my focus or getting up to walk around my area and then back to my desk and that seems to help the sleepiness abate and then I'm fine.

I'm the same boat with you as far as energy in the evening, k.o. blood sugar checks from diabetes center's coming back normal, and Iv even seen a neurologist, which was very strange much like to the diabetes center test were. I also relate on every level of the female befOre your post, being healthy and young on a performance/sports diet and working out 3to 5 times a week, I also take supplements but get the oh shoot I'm drugged feeling.I'm also having to smoke cigarettes to stay awake while driving. So here's something that has helped me a bit. Wake up early dawn, "sun rise" work out for 50 min.no longer our you will be tired, no less or there are less active and lasting results. But only temporarily. Has any one found any good information or advise that can assist me and others in this dangerous life style? Other than the answer provided.that didn't help either...
