I have had a history of acid reflux and finally had an endoscopy a couple of months ago and it was discovered that I had a bacteria infection in the lining of my stomach called H.Pylori bacteria. Its something most people have but without symptoms. Most people won't get tested for it unless you have an ulcer or really bad heartburn, which i had the latter. The bacteria produces acid. Treatment is two weeks of intense antibiotics and acid reducers. So I was hoping to try out a banana now that it has been over a month since I finished treatment. I haven't tried it yet, but I had a spoonful of lobster salad from Stew Leonards that I have eaten for years and I'm in pain AGAIN! I was hoping I had rid the problem, but no...So I am still lost. Maybe after a few months when the bacteria has completely rid of itself, it won't hurt to eat a banana...

I react to latex, and all latex fruits (nearly all fruits, and also uncooked potato, lettuce, avocado, soy (avoid tofu)). I also cannot eat fish - it gives me severe cramping and sudden toile bursts within minutes of eating any seafood.
In my mid-twenties suddenly everything I ate was leaving my body within minutes of eating, I was doubled over in pain on the floor most evenings, I went to hospital with pains in my abdomin. I had always had problems, but overnight these got dreadful. I was also suffering from feelings of depression, and upsetness, despair.
This was confused with my appendix, but when that was not the problem, I was sent home and told I was exaggerating the pains.
I had erratic weight loss and gain - within any month I would lose and gain over a stone in weight!
I was tested for latex allergy, but tests were negative. I was also tested for allergy to banana - the test was positive. I was also positive for egg yolk allergy. I am also lactose intolerant.
I was told that I had irritable bowel, and to avoid eating bananas. I spent coniderable time researching food allergies, and have discovered that my irritable bowel was actually from the foods I was eating.
My doctor advised me to try a week or two of rice and meat, and to see how things went.
I have intolerance to gluten - this took 4 weeks to get out of my system.
I stopped eating fruit - all welts, and stomach pain to the left of my abdomin disappeared.
I Have stopped eating fish.
Overall, I have cut out all the foods that I am advised to eat to be healthy, and have invested in a multi vitamin for people with defincencies.
I eat rice, meat, lactose free milk (Not soy, as it contains latex to the best of my knowledge), crisps (cooked potatoes ok for now) - but only walkers, etc - most contain vegetable oil or sg (gluten) , I can eat chocolate in moderation (Lactose).
I can eat corn - so get gluten free cereals (kelloggs mostly all contain wheat/barley, so no good).
I am afraid to eat out - there is so little I can eat, I am embarrassed to go to dinner at any friends house, or will have to suffer for days after.
What was diagnosed as IBS is now gone completely (Unless I eat fruit, gluten, soy, lactose), and for the first time in my life time I have what could be called 'normal' toilet functions. I have stopped sleeping 12 hours a day, my skin is the best it has ever been, and my weight has stabilised for the first time ever.
I never would have associated my mood with food - but all the feelings of depression and sinking feelings of despair that I would get for no particular reason, they all went away. If I eat wheat, they come back for a few days.
The downside is I can't enjoy McDonalds, I am bored to tears eating the same foods everyday, I can't eat out, the odd time I have to endure the embarrassment of saying I am allergic to fruit.
But in the last month I discovered a healthfood equivalent to coco pops (kelloggs contain gluten in barley form), so things are starting to look up!
Much of my family have similar problems - welts, weight loss and gain, stomach cramps. They will not accept the concept of food intolerances, and continue to suffer with these problems. There are a lot of people out there who find the idea of allergy to be absurd!

I have had the same problems. I looked into it and this is what makes the most sense. Make sure you eat really ripe bananas. I always go for the yellow ones that have absolutely no brown spots, but these ones are actually way more likely to give you stomache aches as they are not fully ripe. Also make sure you drink lots of water when you eat a banana since they are high in fiber and potassium. The water will help you digest these things better. So 1. brown spots dont hurt you and 2. drink water!
Let me know if these helps!
