I discovered a hard lump on my groin while I was taking a shower a few days ago, and I decided that the best course of action would be to look up any possible causes on the internet and to then decide whether or not I need to see a doctor. Anyway, I found some information about angiomyomatous hamartoma. Do you think I could have this? Has anyone else been through this and what was your diagnosis in the end?

Hi there,

I am not really sure could this be angiomyomatous hamartoma. I know that groin lumps can be caused by many things, like allergic reactions, cancer, swollen lymph nodes, side effects from drugs, hernia or lipoma. Lipoma is a harmless fatty tissues, which can be diagnosed in the hospital. I am not sure if you would really be able to find out what is causing this problem of your with out any tests done at the hospital. My advice would be to see your doctor and to run some test and see what is the real cause of the lump in your groin area. I hope this helped a bit.

All the best,

Danella
