I have this too can't be tonsil stones cause I have no tonsil and they aren't shaped like them. More like a piece of hard mucus and I cough it up every morning

Did you ever find out more about this? I have the same issue, it happens to me every morning when I wake up! Exactly like raw chicken was the only description I could think of as well!

Hey Tevs, I get these often. I think they are mucus build ups and are so annoying until they are "hacked" down nasal passage and spit out. Mine are usually roundish and like where mucus had been pooling up somewhere and finally worked its way out. Just started looking into this.

I've had this for years, except... I feel it in my throat, but then they come out my nose, and it's not snot, they're actually masses, solid, rubbery gross masses. Sometimes they jam in my sinuses and won't come out for a couple days, has destroyed my life and singing career... 5 doctors, 2 ENT specialists all say... "I have no idea what this is, just live with it"

Had this for years too. Traced it down to tannins. Black tea, dark chocolate, apple skins, red wine. They all triggered the same symptoms as above. I now avoid foods with heavy tannin concentration and just drink green tea with honey. Problem solved, but no doctor helped me. They were all clueless. Just careful observation of foods (and Google) helped me....

I am with you. I was a professional singer and it seems like I woke up one day with endless throat clearing and these build ups. Very sad, I can't hit anything without cracking now. This has been going on for 8 years for me.

I don't think they're tonsil stones. The person describes it at hard mucus as in "boogers". I suffer from hardened mucus in my throat along with tonsil stones. I get it every time I wake up in the morning. I thought it was related to the air you breathe hardening mucus.

If your throat mucus has an odor it may mean you have tonsil stones. They're not bad but look them up.
