I am a 23 year old man. I am very active. Eat well and weight train.

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a year and a half ago. My T4 readings were just slightly below normal, but they found the thyroid anitbody count to be very high. I have been on and off of several perscription medacations. These include just T4 (all different brands) from 25mcgs to 125mcg, Armor upto 1 grain, Naturthroid upto 1 grain, (T4) synthroid with cytomel (T3). All made me feel odd in one way or another I could tell my body wasnt functioning right despite the doctors claim that the blood test were fine and thus i was imagining things. I walked my way up on each until I began feeling sympotms of hypertyroidism, which in most cases for me was just heart palpitaions and severe chest cramps. Also no matter which treatment i was on my body temp always stayed low and in some cases actually lowered on the meds (96.7-97.7)

Now against the advise of my doctors I have been off the medication and am treating myself with natural solutions including L-tyrosine, iodine, manganese, vitamin E w/ selenium and a multivitamin. I found i have a significant dificiency in iodine based off of the iodine skin test. Since i have gone off the medicines my personality and mood are more steady and normal my grades have improved and my strength has improved. There are a few aspects which I was never fully able to address either on or off the meds and those are my body temp which refuses to budge. When i was in high school i was a normal 98.6 or so. Freezing painful hands and feet, and my sexual funtion varies day to day but never seems healthy or what it had been. I want to feel normal and get on with my life!! Help.
Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you've been going through some issues like this and I hope that you feel better soon. Can you let me know what your question is? I would like to help you but I'm uncertain as to what you're asking. Can you let me know?

Are you doing beter on your own "prescription"? I have had Hashimoto's for almost 30 years. I have had lots of issues and understand your "Hypo-Hyper Hell". My antibodies go up and down and I can feel the pain in my thryoid, in addition to functioning issues. I have been very unstable for the past 15 years. I also go through med changes and dose changes. Dr.John Lowe reccomends some natrual products which I may consider. I have seen the best in the West and have been told that there is NO money in thryoid disorders for the drug companies to really work on anything new for our problems. Also have low body temps and muscle pain.
Love to hear that you are doing better on your natural solutions?
