I am a 19 year old male and i am 5 8' and weigh 182 pounds and have been experiencing sharp pains in my chest where my heart is. I have been on lisinopril 25mg medication and whats worring me is i am so young and just dont feel normal anymore. I know there has to be something wrong with me because i shouldnt have high blood pressure for one and two i shouldnt be having these sharp pains in my chest where my heart is to the point where i get really light headed and cant breathe. The Doctor said they dont know whats the cause but there has to be a cause because i dont feel how i did a year a go and he said its probably anxiety. But there aint know way its just that because i have been on high blood pressure medication since i was 15. Anyways i just want to hear from somebody on what i should do or what to do because i have been experiencing this sharp pain the past couple of weeks. I have a baby and in love with the girl of my dreams and i want to live a long life but how i have been feeling lately is kinda making me wander.
Chest pain is not something to take lightly! If you are experiencing high blood pressure with sharp chest pains and are already on lisinopril, your doctor should be running further tests. For a 19 y.o. to be on blood pressure meds, you're already at risk for heart attack and stroke. Talk to your doctor and ask him to at least run an EKG. That's the lowest cost test and can be run right in the office. If there's nothing unusual on it and you are still having chest pains, he or she should run an echo to determine if there is something wrong with the basic functioning of your heart. If he or she doesn''t agree with at least the EKG, get another doctor. Has either test been done or discussed with you?
