I recently had sex for the 3rd time with a woman and woke up with a slight tingle in my penis and as I have prostatitis it is sensitive to anything unusual. About an hour later she informed me she had genital herpes, but was not infectious at the time. 2 days later I had a sore throat but this passed in a day. A week later I still have symptons in my penis, but these symptons are consistent with my prostatitis. My Doc said I should wait and see what happens.

Doesn't sound like its herpes. And if she says she's not infectious thats probably true most of the time but not always, as herpes sheds sometimes without an outbreak or the person knowing, so using a condom is best. And never have sex, even with a condom, during an outbreak. So doing this you're likely to never get it, but as with anything, there is always a risk.
