What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a baby at 22?
Number 1...way to early...my parents, and not only my parents, but all my aunts and uncles got preggo around 20, and 22 isn't a long way from there, and honestly I've asked them that same question before, and even though they love their kids, they all tell me the same thing. The BIGGEST disadvantage was not having a life afterward. Not meaning a social life, but what they meant was, they couldn't do all the things they dreamed of doing in life. And second, they weren't established enough...hell in this economy, and all the time that has passed since then, which they are all in their late 40s now, they still haven't become established. My parents and my aunts and uncles, they all wish that they would have been more prepared for children, so they could give us and themselves a better life....I'm not sure where you are in life right now, or whoever you might be asking for, but this is just my opinion. I would wait to have children, at least 24yrs old. If I didn't have the house, the money, and everything prepared, even though, it is a baby you will never be prepared for what a child brings you in life, but if I didn't have all those things set up, and a good paying job, and time for my independence. I wouldn't be so creul as to bring a child into a world when I don't even have those things. You know what I mean? But like I said it's just an opinion. Don't take it personal. Good Luck to you-Jill
