when you sit does it get progressively worse or is the pressure constant? where do you feel the pressure?
Congrats on finding a potential cause, are you going to receive treatment, any recommendation for docs or hospitals?
I have never heard of retroverted odontoid process nor has any doc mentioned it to me, so if you have more info on that, I want to check my MRIs as well. thank you

Hello,
First have say i try to eat right, and exercise on a daily basis at least 4 days a week For past year have had a flutter feeling that starts in middle of chest and ends in bottom of throat. No pain just uncomfortable feeling. Very scary. Have been to doctor and ER they say anxiety. Several EKGs done and they say heart is fine. I'm a very nervous person i admit that but never had an issue with panic til this started. I then started getting this tenderness feeling in my chest. Chest stays tender to touch pretty much always. Doctors say severe inflammation. Back in October i fell on left side, got up with no pain whats so ever, and went on. November started having some stabbing and shooting pain in chest through bottom of ribs, and numbness in arms. Went ER and doctors told me inflammation possible GI problems. Had upper GI done, all good. Cervical and Thoracic MRI done. T4-5 small left paracentral disc protrusion, causing mass effect on the thecal sac with no cord impingement seen. C3-4 mild disc bulging and C6-7 mild bulging eccentric to the right. Since this have started having shooting pains from hip down. Cant sleep at night due to pressure when lay down and tingling feelings. Sitting position causes pressure bottom of rib cage to top of head with severe pressure pain. Feels like nerves jump all over. Ask Doctors if the 2 related, said NO. and since Didnt hurt from falling shouldnt be from it. Back In ER cause now have shooting pain in head like shocking pains that come and go with severe pressure and Numbness Sent me to Neuro Doc. Say possbile fibromalagia. Done MRI of brain with nerve test at follow up. Haven't heard anything so no news is good news, right. Waiting on results. If no answers will request a xray and MRI of bottom of spine. I went from being an outgoing person to someone who stays in pain. Could the two be related. Im going crazy!

Hi,
I have been having the same issue. I notice my headache comes when I 1st stand or am sitting for a long time. I do have nasal swelling and are currenly going though allergy shots, but I do not think that is what it is. I get massages and try to sit up straight and I may agree with it being posture because ever since I got an office job, it started. I have to sit on a hard chair too. The more tired I am, the worst it is. I do get the standard 8 hours of sleep though. The pain I can feel in my forehead and the back of my head into my neck. All tests came back okay. It feels like when I stand up, a rush a pain, and like my head is gonna pop off. Sharp pain happens at the base of head mostly. Help?

Hi. Is there anyone still reading these posts? I have been having similar symptoms for about five months. It happens when i sit at my kitchen table on thin cushioned chairs. It feels like the top of my head and behind my ears are being pulled upwards (like having a tight pony tail in my hair). Sometimes i get the feeling of goose bumps around my head (like when you hear a beautiful song). I live in a mild climate and i had a two week holiday in the sun with no symptoms. They returned as soon as i got back. I have not been to see my doctor yet. I am going to put my hard chairs away for a while and see what happens. Thanks for reading. Shona.

I have been experiencing the same symptoms and living with this since last march....about 9 months. I am finally following through with docs and getting blood work done. I have exactly your symptoms....seems to come on when I am sitting, however I am starting to notice that it comes on like clockwork between 12 and 1 every day. It is very chronic and needless to say annoying....pressure behind forehead/eyes. It definitely affects my concentration. It does come and go, when exercising and standing or walking it seems to go away (most of the time. ) My doc is thinking sinus possibly severe...but I don't think that is it. I've never had sinus problems or allergies and I don't have any other related symptoms....I may go to chiropractor....My doctor is also having me go to eye doctor to get tested for glaucoma which can have similiar symptoms but I don't have a family history of that.... please keep me posted if you find an answer to cause. I am very healthy and active...but this is really starting to be limiting....Thx!
