I am 39 and have most of the same symptoms as some of you.  I have always been very active with sports all of my life.  I mostly play basketball.  I have always seemed to have more energy than the other guys I play with.  In the last year it has all changed.  I assumed it was just because I am getting old but I have fought that idea a lot.  I have been having neck and shoulder pain when I play that goes up the back of my neck and seems to stop behind my ears.  It feels a lot like burning muscles from working them.  But the pain behind my ears is more like ear infection pain but I don't have infections.  The pain does go away about an hour after I stop playing.  The symptoms also include fatigue, lack of endurance and feeling like I am going to black out.   I don't really have the symptoms during normal life activities.  It is only when I exercise and put a lot of effort into it.  Anyone have this going on?

Hi, I am 18 years old and I have alot of the same issues you all have with your health. About a year ago I was diagnosed with mono, but on top of that I have chronic anxiety. Everything you all say sounds like an anxiety disorder.  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***

I just went in for something similar yesterday- while playing soccer I would get headaches, lightheaded, lose my depth perception, and run like I was drunk. The dr. tested me for a bunch of stuff and I was positive for mono. If it gets worse though I have to go in and  be examined for heart problems as well.

Hey everyone. I am 19 years old and am experiencing the same symptoms as all of you are. Its been about two weeks now and nothing is changing for me. I use to work out everyday and eat plenty during the day but now i cant even go for a swim with out wanting to take a nap. I just had blood work done and i came back negative for both mono and lyme disease. This is really annoying me because i am young and have not been able to get out of the house for over two weeks. Has anyone thought that this may be a sign of diabetes? I am going to ask my Dr. if i can get tested for it. But moving on i was wondering from all of you previous posters if anyone has found what the issue is. I really want to get back to my normal life and i begin school in 3 weeks so someone please help!

I have been suffering with back pain for years. It took the Dr.s several years before they diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. I have all the symtoms that everyone is describing. Since January of this year I have been having major head pain in  the back of my head and my neck and in  my left shoulder and in my face, my jaws and my left ear. I have been to several Dr.s and had a Cat scan and an MRI done and they found nothing. I have been to the chiropracter and that just made me worse. I been to physical therapy and that didn't help. Went to a Neurologist and he said my Fibromyalgia had moved up into my head along with Myofacial pain which is extremely painful. I have pretty much had to lay around with an ice pack on my head for 8 months straight. I have been having headaches, neck and shoulder pain and face pain everyday since January. I have had numerous different kinds of shots and different kinds of medicine and nothing helps. They have now got me taking medical Botox shots which are very expensive. I have only taken 2 so far and the Dr. said it usually takes the 3rd shot before you can really tell a difference. He said I needed about 20 but if they will get me feeling better they will be worth every penny. I hope he is right because i'm suffering terribly. I can't hold my head down because the muscle in my neck is very weak and i'm starting to lose strength in my left arm. Research it. You will be surprised at just what it will cause you to feel like. It's terrible. And by the way i'm 43 years old. I forgot to mention that but it started when I was around 20 or before in my back. Good luck to everyone and God Bless you all. I wish you all the best!

Hi, Just relating more to your earlier illness which in turn can affect all other parts of your body if not treated, but have you been tested for coeliacs disease - allergy to gluten? If you do not follow a strict diet (if you have it) it will eventually affect all your organs. The allergy detroys parts of your small intestines which absorbs vitamins and minerals for your body from your food. Without the V & M you have a poor immune system etc and are constantly ill . I was sick with similar symptoms for 2 yrs before being diagnosed. Unfortunately, now I'm suffering your later symptoms, and trying to find out what that is also

Hi I am now in my forties but in my late 20's I had the same symptoms as relayed here,..about 10 students from my Uni got it, we believed it was CMV as a number of PhD students, our tutors, had self injected the virus to study the mechanism of the HIV virus which is similar (very un-professional)...I was working and studying and leading a fairly hectic and relatively stressful life when it hit me.. My supervisor at Uni was a physiologist and therefore found my symptoms very interesting,.. I was so exhausted after walking 200m from my car to a lecture hall that I was sweating profusely and my heart was racing... The only way I got better (after suffering for 2 years) was to leave my stressful life and focus on eating and sleeping well.  I went on a very strick Ayuverdic diet, very low protein.. and use similar technques as chronic fatigue suffers used such as reducing temperature in tthe shower every morning, this did work to reduce fatigue and increase feeling of well being.  I left work and uni as I was pregnant, other women say being pregnant made them tired but for me it felt like my body had been given a new lease on life,,.. However if you don't treat it it can destroy your life, a guy I know is still suffering from it..

All the best hope you all get better...remember if you are feeling tired it is your body saying its time for rest even if you have things to do!!!!.....

How long after your tick bite did you notice these symptoms? I was bitten by a tick in Nov. 2010 and I'm beginning to feel funny.

Really bad headache, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea and vomitting, muscle aches and pain, lethargy, what feels like postural bp problems brought on by sudden movements and sometimes I can't concentrate at all.

Do you think I should get checked for Lyme?

Have any of you suffered a concussion?

Mine was quite mild and I'm not sure if my symptoms are a result of this. (Or the concussion was just a coincidence.)

My symptoms include:

- Numb temple/occasionally numb across the entire right side of face.

- Constant headache; aching sensation on the top and back of my skull. (For at lease three months now, daily. It's present when I wake until I go to sleep. Occasionally, awaken due to the pain.

- Nausea and dizzyness; I feel as if I am going to faint/vomit for some unexplained reason.

- Loss of concentration/ ability to recall information/ issues with completing tasks.

- Issues with spelling *Now I'm quite certain that an extremely mild hit to the head couldn't cause this! IS THIS PURELY STRESS/ANXIETY RELATED?!

PLEASE HELP.

I'm 17 years old and have a history of anxiety, anorexia nervosa, depression and migraines. HOWEVER, I have never experienced anything to this degree in terms of headache pain and continuous nausea.

Thankyou all.

I don't know whether it helps but ... .... SNAP, your symptons mirror mine.

I'm 45, and for the last 12 months have been having severe migraine, sickness, terrific neck pains and shoulder pains, with pins and needles / aching down my shoulders and it all feels really really wierd, to the point of being frightening.

Nothing seems to change anything, although my migraine tablets Zomig seem to reduce the migraine but not the really strange sensations and dizziness.

I too seem to be getting really anxious and have had blood tests too and am waiting CAT scan results.
