I have Chiari Malformation, a deformity of the skull, which causes the cerebellum to be forced into the brainstem or simply be compressed.  I was born with it, but I only found out I had it when symptoms such as neck and shoulder pain, muscle tightness on the side of the face, and weakness and fatigue began around the age of 48.  Many find symptoms begin in their 20's or 30's, when their skull if fully developed.  Chiari is not life threatening, don't want to scare anyone here!  There is an operation for it, but it can definitely be life altering, because of the symptoms you must put up with.  Surgery is a last resort!  Sadly, many doctors know very little about this, so your GP may not be very helpful.  You would need an MRI and a neurologist to get a proper diagnosis.  Look it up! Mayfield Clinic or Mayo Clinic have good explanations of it!

I think you should try a chiropractor.  It sounds like you may have some misalignment of the spine (called vertebral subluxations) which can stop nerves working properly and stop proper blood supply to organs and tissues.  I had unexplained symptoms for 18 months, and have just recently seen a chiropractor which shows on the xrays misalignment, particularly my neck area.  I had a whiplash injury 20 years ago, which is probably the culprit.  If you have had a slip, fall or minor accident, that might explain what you are going through.  It's definitely worth checking out.  HOpe that helps, lots of luck

Hi all . I have suffered with similar symptoms following a virus 5 years ago and have finally been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome/ME. There used to be a lot of negative press about this but it is now classed as a disability. Google CFS and have a look at medical entries. The diagnosis is made by eliminating other illnesses. There is no test to specifically identify it yet. I have tested negatively for Lymes and Lupus. However, it did have a high level of a hormone in my brain. It's not easy and feels like a constant battle but I manage to work 11 months out of the year still by managing the illness, learning that I have to rest when my body tells me. One of the big contributing factors that I have noticed is that I am worse when my eating habit is not healthy. Cutting out chocolate, high sugar foods and alcohol will help.

You should see a chiropractor about the neck pain/headaches. As for the anxiety, that could be a major contributing factor to your overall sick feeling, and maybe talking to your family doctor about going on something to help with that would help, as well. Best of luck.

I am 19 yr old female and have been having the same problem for 2 yrs now. i have had several different types of test done. i would have chest pains and palpatations. i have terrible migraines horrible neck pain, constantly tired. sore joints. weak muscles, i can barely walk the grocery store without going home and wanting to just pass out. but we all know what symptoms we have in common but what other enviromental factors do we have in common.

i have a two yr old daughter.

have been on three different birth control, the pill, nuva ring, currently on implanon.

moderate/ severe stress level.

I eat pretty healthy. (no sodas fast food on occasion)

never traveled out of the us.

i live in arkansas

around mosquitoes alot.

i am on my phone/ computer alot.

maybe if we figure out what one thing we have in common we could find an answer.

Hi, I'm experiencing a lot of what you guys have been saying, though I do have a few other symptoms.

I have headache, a very odd sort of headache, unlike I've ever had before. It tends to be in my temples on either side, but is more common on the right. It's not terribly painful, but very persistent. It breaks my concentration, so that I can't read or focus on a conversation.

I also have neck stiffness and soreness, and actual stabs of pain in my neck.

I get body pains, in my shoulders, arms, legs, thighs and stomach.

I often feel faint when I do things, have a loss of appetite and trouble eating. It makes me feel ill, and I have a persistent sensation in my throat that makes me feel as if I may throw up.

Before I became ill, maybe a year or so before, I had recurring urinary tract infections. I took antibiotics several times to clear everything up, but still had blood in my urine.

I did tests for my kidneys, which checked out fine. Next was my bladder, and then found that I have IC during a cystoscopy.

I turned seventeen years old on the eight of August, and have been ill since the beginning of February of this year.

I get the impression from my doctor that he may not believe me when I tell him about some of my symptoms, and he referred me to a specialist, a gastro, who is working with me to get to the bottom of the throat sensation.

Now while I don't recall being bitten by a tick or a flea, or have a rash in the shape of a bulls eye, I won't write off lyme disease. Frankly, I've been sick for so long that I'm willing to be tested for just about anything that could possibly match my symptoms.

This is my senior year in highschool, and I don't feel like I can even make it through the first week of school let alone the whole years. Never mind enjoying it.

I wish all of you the best of luck finding out what may be making you ill. If you're anything like me, you've been counting up the days since you first fell ill. Here's to a clean bill of health for all of us.
