I have had chronic stomach pain for years. It has been diagnosed as dyspepsia, maybe mild IBS, and I have had endoscopies that sometimes show ulcers and sometimes do not. I had a hyda scan which resulted in 32% ejection rate. At that time my Dr. said that it was pretty borderline and the likeliness of it causing constant pain with that rate wasn't likely. Now a year later a different doctor says I should give it some serious thought. I'm very sensitive to medications and I'm sure this procedure would be rough on me. I know there's a decent chance this won't help and also that I could develop chronic diahhrea issues after the surgery. I'm just not sure if the possible benefits outweigh the risks with a 32% hyda scan and no detected stones. Anybody have any advice for me? (I am getting Dr. advice, I'd just like some personal thoughts as well). Thanks
