I have a small pimple that has occured maybe 3 times this year. It itches very bad and then turns into a small sore. I have had it in the past but thought it was from sweating because I spend alot of time in the gym. I had my doctor do a herpes blood test which came back postitive. My doctor perscribed Zovirax, but she did not do a cultural. For the last year I have also have had frequent urination at night (almost ever 1.5 hours) and problems with changes in my bowel movements. I also have some night sweats. Along with this it constantly feels like something is sitting inside my skin where my tailbone is. Sometimes it feel like something is crawling in around tailbone area. I am a 48 year old female and my doctor seems to believe I am in the begining stages of menopause and is not taking me seriously. Any advice you can give would be helpful. This is taking an emotional toll on me. Thank you in advance.
My only real advice would be to go to a different doctor.
I've had a similar thing on my tail bone for as long as I can remember, my guess is my dad kissed my butt when I was baby when he had a cold sore or something, since I can't otherwise image getting herpes before I could talk. Its never spread, and I don't have cold sores myself, but it definitely reoccurs. Its annoying when it does show up, since as you said, its horribly itchy and drives you nuts if you sit wrong. I think I was told once as a little kid it was probably a form of herpes, don't think its ever been formally tested though.
However, I'm not, and never had your later problems. I've been living with it for almost 20 years now, and it used to occur quite frequently. Even still, I didn't have the urination, bowel or night sweat issues. It is possible that it is menopause occurring at the same time (though it seems a tad early, though I'm no doctor), but I'd go see another doctor. From my experience, it seems more like a correlational issue that you're experiencing. Try asking around, second opinions wont hurt.

I have that, it happent a few times in my life, and I always thaught it was due to sweat. But now I realize it is the same thing that I have sometimes on my lips!! I know I have herpes type 1 or 2 (I don't remember), and I heard once that the virus lives in the coccyx, the tailbone.
I have had these red burning blisters on my tailbone as well as night sweats and changes in my bowel movements as you described as well as bumps on my arms. I have been to numerous doctors and finally found the answer i was looking for two weeks ago. I have Celiac Disease (Gluten Allergy). Since i have gone Gluten free my symptoms have slowly disappeared. I hope this helps. It's worth looking into.
I agree with you. She has early menopause symptoms along with a ganglion tailbone herpes.
Try rubbing oregano oil on and around your tail bone while taking olive e leaf extract watched its effects on my girlfriend and she hasn't had a cold sore again
Agreed Olive Leaf Extract is effective. If you can't tolerate Oregano Oil, Athlete's Foot cream (Lotrimin) works. Some mix it with a little DMSO. The herpes virus hides inside a fungal host. Antifungal cream kills that host so the virus can't reproduce.
