I had the exact same symptoms as described here – hives which come 'in pairs', terribly itchy, they come suddenly and disappear after a week or so… anyway, just came back from the doctor, she immediately said it’s herpes simplex (not zoster!). it comes in a typical diagonal line, she said, which may look like ‘a pair of bumps’. Hope it helps! I got a therapy and she said it might help, mostly with the itching, although herpes comes and goes as the immune system weakens…

I have recently experienced this too. In the back of one knee.... 6 or seven pairs of bites itchy bites. I think I have it narrowed down to chiggers. I have a corner in my house with a bunch of house plants. I recently noticed that they are covered with little mites. I can't wait until the weather is reliable enough that I can put them all outside. Look up chiggers... they are the larva of tiny little spider mites. See if you think that's the problem. I think that's what mine are.

I have had a severe skin reaction first time in my life. I also believe it’s a reaction to a new duvet cover and pillows. Not sure if it’s the fabric or maybe chemicals used in the finishing of the item.
