I'm not looking to lose much weight, but this seemed like the most appropriate board for my questions.

1.) Honestly, how many calories are shaved off by dropping fast food and soda. I've only been doing it for a few weeks, but I have already noticed an increase in alertness. Maybe thats because I'm off the caffeine =-D

2.) How much would lifting some weights only about 10-15 minutes anight help upper body strength? It's only like 40 lbs.

Anyway, I've never used this site, and I don't know the quality of advice or intelligence of the populous. I'm 17, a little chunky, not enough to effect my health though, if thats important.

Thanks.

James

TONS. I know that I consume maybe 7-14 sodas a week... plus fast food maybe 3 times a week... thats a lot of calories. Sodas are almost 200 each for just a 12OZ and fast food can be like 600-1000 calories. Fast food makes you sluggish and after you stop drinking caffeine you get tired. So as addicting as they both are, if you can manage to stop for a few weeks you'll notice you do feel a lot better :-)

If you continued to do it, you'd see some difference. However I wouldn't work the same muscles every day. Maybe every other day, or focus on a different set of muscles in between days.
