My mom works .6 miles (that's 528 fathoms for you Canadians) away from her "job" and she still won't ride a bicycle. :|

Give her a break! She's 86!

"Canadians, please list the distance in cubits or fathoms (your choice)."

I thought they used Moose clicks.

No, he would have just raped me instead :|
i can't even string together the words necessary to express what i think of your sudden escalation of events there.
wear a fake moustache - chance of being raped = lesser.

I'm 10000000mm from work - door to door.

So that would be about 6 moose clicks.

10k?
i'm not entirely sure of mine, somewhere between 7.5-10k. i don't think i've actually driven the route. but the straight distance there is 7.5 k, i have to add some distance to avoid the main roads though.

I'm about 16 miles or so from my work. The main problem is very simple: There are no shower facilities at work.

1) wear underarmour/dri-fit type stuff.
2) wear antipersperant
3) bring a towel to towel off.
4) change of underpants
5) wash your cycling gear on a very regular basis to avoid compound smells
6) run your wrists under cold water for a minute when you get there to cool your body off faster.
7) deoderant and cologne also help.
it's not as bad as you might think (then again your ride *is* almost 3 times as long as mine)... :?
