Hey, I'm a freshman cross-country runner in high school. While the season ended a while ago, I didn't discover this board until now, so I figure I'll ask some pressing questions:
1.) Problem: I didn't feel like I ran my best my last few races.
Details: In my last 4-5 races, while I got a PR every race, I felt as though I could have run harder, it's just that my body simply refused. I always finished as top a top 3 freshman from my school. I would try to push but I simply wouldn't go faster, even though I know I could. Anything like this happen to you?
2.) Problem: Having trouble running in practice.
Details: In my practices, around the same time as the above problems up until now, I've had problems practicing. I can really only go 4 miles before I'm simply whooped. Just simple done. Again, if you would be kind enough as to suggest solutions, that would be awesome.
I've been told it may be due to growth spurts, any idea how to cope with them, if that may be the case?
