I ,ve ran most of my life..quite a few marathons and triathlons years ago..had something happen in my life a few years ago that changed me and I havent run in awhile..I would like to get the enthusiasm back to get out on the roads again..maybe a news years resoulution to do the best I can do ?.challange myself?..
Just get out there and do it!

The thing that helped me the most was keeping a log of my runs. As you start looking back at your previous history, you can easily track how far you have come....

Good luck! These forums are very helpful too!

It looks like you already have taken the first step. Post your workouts in the training section so we can keep an eye on you ;)

Go to a running store. Buy new shoes if you can. That always seems to give me some excitement about a new running program. And, then when you feel guilty about spending so much money on shoes that are sitting in your closet, you feel like you need to run to justify them. See, they work double duty!
At any rate, welcome to the board!!!

The log is a big help for me. I always feel guilty when I go more than 2 days without getting a run in and putting the miles in the log!

Now get out there and get running before we all start: :coach:

oh yeah, welcome to the board also!

Yeah you just gotta get out there and do it.....the suggestion of buying new shoes is a good one. I also think that when starting up (or re-starting) a new exercise program or any program, you have to be willing to let it take over your life for a little bit. I tried to start a running program on and off for the last ten years, but it wasn't until the last year when I really made it a priority that I've been successful. After a while it will become a normal part of life again, but not necessarily one that controls your life, well maybe for some.....
