HAL is can be very successful with an experienced well trained doc. Not every colorectal surgeon does the preceedure and you want to make sure that you are not the guinea pig. You also have to be a good candidate. Apparently, with HAL the stitches are above a certain area in the rectum where there are not as many pain nerves so it does not cause as much pain. Honestly, I'm glad I did what I did and not have to worry about it anymore.
I'm glad that you're at least not regretting what you went through so thank heavens for small miracles there. Thanks for all the information on surgery :)

Hi there! I forgot all about updating everyone. My friend's surgery really went better than we could've expected. I don't think he was under for more than two or three hours and he's home now, actually staying at my place while he gets better since I offered to look after him. He's passed out in my guest bedroom with some stupid movie on right now. Still very slow moving and he describes his BMs as worse than a Stephen King nightmare but other than that he's doing surprisingly well. Thanks so much for asking. And again, thank you SO so much for all the information!! It has helped his recovery greatly, especially the sitz baths. :) How have you been doing?
