Sure are a lot of problems described here re: klonopin.  Does anyone have success stories about its use and/or withdrawal?  What did you do and how did you do it?  Could be very helpful........Thanks!

I have been on clonopin for 5 yrs to treat vertigo. I am super pissed I wanted to sue my dr! I was suffering from ext balance issues that was causing me to have ext anxiety I had 3 major panic attacks that resulted in trips to the er because I thought I was dying! I thought the vertigo was causing the anxiety but now I think it was the other way around so I had major surgery to try to fix the problem instead it made things worse and when I asked my dr would it be hard to get off the clonopin he said its not addictive that's a joke!!!!!! I have never been addicted to anything in my life until this! I strarted at 3 pills a day .05 mg and made it down to 2 pills a day but then when I tried to go below that all hell broke loose! The withdrawal is unbearable u feel like ur living outside ur body, heart racing, body tingling, muscle pains, brain fogg on and off the drug is the worst, dry mouth, equilibrium completely out of wack! My ears pop headaches and the list goes on.... They want to give u other drugs to take u off this drug brilliant! What damage is this doing to my kidneys already seeing a very slight elevation in my numbers. The drug keeps me from driving long distances it has ruined my life! Now that I'm trying to ween off and only take one and a half a day it's hell! And DRs are no help they get richer while we get sicker! I'm sick of it I don't know what the solution is but I don't even remember what feeling normal feels like anymore.

Benzo withdrawals can last months to even a year for persons on long term high dose therapy. A few days is only for short term use. See the post below on klonopin - this guys knows what he is saying. This class of drugs is for short term use only...

This is why I want off Klonopin bc it's the last med that I'm taking and my hairs still falling out, I believe it's the Klonopin so I'm going off slowlllly hoping that my hair may stop falling out with reduction. I used it as needed, but when I started using it as maintence , that's when the hair started coming out. I have been on it for 2 yrs

4-6 days physically worse after 2 days  . mentally 10 days -2 weeks. Depending if person has been drug dependent in past. Or has been using klonipin longer then 6 months. A person willl suffer menatally until brain chemistry corrects itself which can take longer then 6 months. Also if user has been addicted ti substances in past symptoms which arent really symptoms but the problem to begin with may never fully recover because they have problems which need other means of treatment.

Been on K-pin for just over a month, 1 mg four times a day. Doctor prescribes me 1 week scripts which I would run out a little early and have to bum/buy from people. Last time doctor seemed to trust me enough and gave me a 2 month supply (240) 1mg tabs. I finished them all but 1 two days ago. about 2 weeks after being prescribed. I abused the heck out of them and now Im paying the price. Its extremely cold here and im always sweating, my back tingles.

I just want to say I never intended to abuse them. I dont know how it happened.

Please, if you have anxiety, or a phobia or sleep issues DONT take the benzo route.

Go to a non-doctor therapist for your issues. I am currently doing that while suffering and Ive learned some great tips and Id like to share the most basic one with you all today.

Avoidance is not the answer. And taking K-pins is avoidance to your much deeper seeded problem.

God bless you all who are feeling hopeless. Mine hasnt even begun yet, but I am putting myself at the mercy of the Lord and I WILL get through this.

PS: This is a personal choice, as I have access to benzo.

First of all GOOD LUCK to you. My dad has been taking Klonopin now for about 8 months. He has had a seizure and is actually suffering from Absence seizure; he was given this and the dosage is 0.5 which he takes 1 every night. I am starting to ween him off it by giving 1/2 of that a night, then I will give every other night. I do notice that he legs are weaker (he does use a walker) but I see the difference when he is using the Klonopin and when he is not. He does get angry faster, I figured I better take him off before he gets too dependent; I rather he can't walk than for him to suffer mentally. He is also hallucinating which is BAD! He is 91 (but looks 75), I figured its better for him and all of us, so hopefully because the dosage is little it won't be too long. Thanks to everyone for their information. I was actually afraid of taking him off of it because of the weakness in his legs.

I have come off cold turkey and going through all this and am glad to know it is from coming off the drug I just wish I knew how long it will last. I've been on this drug for 2 years 1mg 3x a day and ran out 2 weeks ago I go to my dr. tomorrow and worry she will want to put me back on it because I have epilepsy and it may cause me to have seizures to come off this way but I can't stand taking this drug anymore. My family says I am a on it. I would rather be on something for occassional panic attacks or a glass of wine than this stuff.

I have been on clonazepam for 10 years. I am up to 8 MG a day! 2 MG tablets x 4 times a day. Extremely high dose after reading these posts. I'm scared to death that I will have these bad symptoms if I try to titrate off. What used to help me is now a daily maintenence. I pray every day that I won't have panic attacks, which are frequent.

I have been on Klonopin for 9 years @ 4mg and then 2mg.

August, 2019, my doctor took me off of it cold turkey and put me on Gabaten to help with the withdrawals.

After being disconnected with mind and body was put back on Klonopin and still having side effects. It has been 4 days and want to know how long this feeling will last.

Thank you for your input.
