hi, i have been of klonopin for about 2 years and i am still cloudy and wake up in a panic sometimes. it does not feel like an underlying condition as it comes in waves the cloudiness is not really a panic or mood symptom. i also still have distended belly and joint pain. have you had any of this? and are you still having symptoms after two years off?
I was on Klonopin for about a month the side effects were so horrible I thought I had a disease until I checked it out on the net blurred vision, nightmares, birds flying around my bedroom and severe constipation. What is worse I have been off it for 3 weeks and I am dizzzy, can't focus, vomiting, and diarrea I don't even know what day it is. If you really don't know about your rx please do your homework and ask questions
Hello! I feel all of your issues with this poison drug called Clonopin! My wife is been taking it for almost two years now and she is on .25 morning ang .5mg night. This drug has over 20-30 side affects and please you all have to be very very careful when going off this poison. The longer you take it the longer you have to taper it it and also depends on dosage. Example: if you take 1mg per day it'll take about 5-6 month to taper that to zero and it has to be mixed with another benzo like Valium. One book that will help you through this called "The Ashton Manual" most doctors/psichiatrists don't even know about ! I pray that you'll feel better and wish you the best
You're stopping it too fast! Quitting this medication ( Klonopin) is a 4-8 months process. Please be very careful. The most helpful tip out there is a book called The Ashton Manual. It cost about $30 and it's worth every penny. Wish the best and once you're off never take any benzo again!
I have just recently been taken off klonopin kind of abruptly. I went into rehab for something else and they just stopped the klonopin abrubtly. I can relate to the hair loss and definately the muscle jerks especially at night. I also became very shaky, very noticable in my hands especially. My legs sometimes as well. It is crazier than taking the medication. I do not know how long I can put up with the hands shaking. (people are looking at me)
Where did you go for treatment?
How is the lamictal doing for you? Are finding relief?
Thanks so much I only took klonopin for 27 days and felt like a freak..Shakey sweaty irritably agitated constipation should I go on I have now been off it for a month and I am still shakey and very tired light headed and weak this has got to stop. Doctor prescribed trazedon and something for rls (I haven't started the rls stuff because I am afraid of the side affects..Keep in touch Kathleen
With respect the above post is totally false. Withdrawals can last 1-3 years after long term use. Every one is different.
I was just taking it to relieve anxiety attacks brought on by a legal ordeal. 3-4 mgs a week, then I went to 1-2 and now haven't taken any for a week and a half but find the stomach wrenching and feeling of falling and negative mind chatter still going on.. mostly the anxiety is worse than when taking it, but without the underlying cause...it's just there.. Well good to know it will get better... I've been through worse.
Thanks Jodi for responding I am still very shakey and my stomach is in an uproar..My sister was just admitted to the hospital for prescription drug abuse and is in denial..She is a shopper and has grocery bags full of drugs..She has been abusing xanax for over 30 years..Her son went in the home and supposedly removed all the drugs from the house but I know for a fact she has more hidden.. She told me the other day that she would kill herself if she did not feel better I was so upset I called her local police department to go over and check on her she managed to lie her way out of the situation as usual she is very deceptive and has sources to get her drugs I believe she may have stolen a prescription pad from one of the docters any advise you can give me is greatly appreciated thanks for letting me know about your position as a pharamacist Kathleen ***this post is edited by moderator *** ***

Withdraw from klonopin is the worse withdraw ever. I feel as if im dying and its been 5 days since i stopped. Finally i took 2mg to get some relief but i know that the relief wont last. Its absolute HELL!!!!!!
I was given this drug after my husband died, for sleep. They said it was safer than sleeping pills... It has been now 7 years later and my new doctor wants me to get off this and the withdraw is bad.... very bad.... black outs... hair loss... can't sleep... the panic attacks have come back....bad dreams.... DON'T GET ON THIS DRUG!!!!
for me I only go down .50 ever 6 - 8 weeks. then if I feel like my body isn't ready yet I wait another week. My doctor is working with me and allowing me to listen to my body. If your doctor isn't working with you you might want to find a doctor who is willing to help you come off at a slower pace. By the sound of your side effects it's just to fast. Melatonin may help with sleep but they say that anything over 5mg is a waste. You could talk to your pharmicist also to get a recomendation from them about how much to cut back at a time and explain to them what your symptoms are. I'm sorry your having such a hard time. I really wish doctors would educate us more. I will do my own research from now on before taking something thats perscribed. I wish I had before ever getting started but I guess I put alot of trust in my doctor and I really didn't know what questions to ask. This is a good place to read about other peoples experiences before getting hooked on something.
me too. thank you. im crying.
