I have taken vicodin for approximately 10 yrs, xanax approx 30 yrs, and oxycontin for 3 yrs. As time passed it took more and more of these meds to relieve the pain. Every month was a nightmare as my tolerance increased and a months perscription would last only about 10-14days. Knowing that I was struggling with controlling these medications my doctor began giving me warnings. I signed a Pain Management Control but he did not list any medications on it. Recently I had an appointment and one medication was past the 30 days, one was due to refilll the next day, and the other was due in 3 days. Although he knew I was out of all of my medications and that I had called in for refills keeping the '48 hr' processing, he gave me a final warning and selected the same day each month to write for all of them. This was a great way to do it. He also gave me a UA knowing I was out of the medications. The first one was inconclusive. Three days later (he would not release the perscriptions until Friday which was fine) he had me do another UA. Even tho the medications were past the month supply and due for refills and he knew I was already out of medications on Tuesday, he gave me another UA knowing I had nothing in my system. A week later I received a certified letter saying I was in violation of my contract which has no medications listed on it, knowing I was out of medications when I did both UAs, and it will become a permanent part of on my medical record. No doctor will ever perscribe the medications for me again. I am diagnosed with Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia. Any suggestions? Does anyone know how long these medications stay in your system? Im not certain if what he did is legal since the contract wasnt complete. And isn't it really dangerous to expect a patient to go cold turkey on 180mg of oxycontin, plus the vicodin and the xanax? any input is appreciated
oh my god you are in trouble. Any pill like that lasts only 2 to 3 days. I would go to a meathadone clinic asap just ti get you by personally talk with you DR it might have been a mistake. Until that look for a doc who will take you. Im sorry i couldnt give more advice. I hope all stays well.
