how long does methadone stay in the body. Why won't suboxon

hello... i barely have aheroin habit, maybe 20$ wortha day , but yesterday at 6pm i took 2 10mg methadone pills.... i need to know  if i can take an 8 mg suboxone today without  it making me sick... somebody please respond quik... thanx

Someone said above that coming off of Methadone for 3 days (72 hrs.) will feel good or that you will feel alright for those three days. That is how much time that is needed to withdraw from Methadone before switching to Suboxone(AND IT IS NOT EVER GOING TO FEEL ALRIGHT ! , anyone that has experienced yrs. of Methadone addiction knows this ). I am not suggesting this, but switching to another opiate might be easier on that person. I personally tried going 48 hrs. after methadone(30 mgs a day for a week) and the last 24 hrs. on an opana(morhine 40 mgs). I could'nt take the withdrawls from the methadone anymore. The next day around 6:00 pm., 24 hrs. after taking the Opana and 72 for the methadone, they put me on my first suboxone slip. I felt a little awkward physically, but not sick. After a few hrs even felt good. The next day, the next slip, awhole lot better. Now that I am on this routine w/ my clinic I am going to NA meetings and trying to get my head right. Also, I had gotten my Methadone dose down to 30 mgs for a week before trying this. So at higher doses of Methadone it has to be hell to try to come off of. NO LESS THAN 72 HRS PERIOD!

 

No way man, 8-12 hours after using heroin? Lies and slander I say....I'm 18 years old, I've been using very pure h for almost a year now, every single f*****g day of my life. Today was the day that I was forced to stand up to the devils drug and seek help after my parents begging me to go to the doctor and get treated. I smoked a little over 1/10th of a gram that morning around 8:45, by 3:45 in the afternoon I had my script of 8mg suboxone strips in hand. I immediately took half of a strip and let it dissolve for 15 minutes underneath my tounge and followed up with the other half strip about 2 1/2 hours later, in order to deal with the incredibly stress-induced withdrawl symptoms I had begun to experience from coming out to everyone about my serious problem. Within an hour, I felt the most immense feeling of hope wash over me as I realized that my withdrawls were beginning to subside and for once had become manageable. I felt like a brand new person, without having to smoke dope to reach that feeling. I will tell you with no doubts in my mind, that suboxone if administered at the proper dosages, will NOT cause you to withdrawl harder then you probably already are. Suboxone activates 4/10ths of the receptors in your brain and holds them at that amount (No more, No less), to ween you off of the full 10/10ths that H was providing you with. Do NOT force yourself to suffer any longer because of what you read online, GET MEDICATED AND GET WELL MY FRIENDS, LEAD YOUR OWN PATH TO DESTINY & DON'T FALL PREY TO THE DEMONS THAT REAL PEOPLE MUST FACE EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIVES.

I just stopped going to the clinic yesterday. I thought if I just use heroin for a few days I could start the suboxen right away. But from what I am reading...its a bad idea. I was on 90 mgs and it takes me 2 bundles a day to get by. What 'place' did you find???

from my experance with suboxin is that you have to be withdrawing for at least 24 to 48 hours for it to work. but suboxone is so hard to get off. i think its better to wean off heroin unless you want to stay on suboxone for life. Plus if you ever get hurt or need surgery the suboxone will block anything they try to give you for pain (which i experanced first hand) hope this helps

Suboxone Is not at all The same as methadone In fact if you are On methadone Suboxone Will send you into Severe immediate withdrawal Also suboxone does not Help for pain at all Where as methadone Has been the best pain reliever any doctor Has prescribed to me I was involved in2 severe life altering car accidents and over the last 10 years I have been in a wheelchair and methadone how is worked better for pain also I felt normal where as with all other opiates I felt drugged and If I missed a dose I. would go into immediate withdrawals some days I forget to take my. methadone until late afternoon and I will begin to hurt and realize I I haven't taken my methodone today because of being in pain that would never happen with any other pain med!!! And in all honesty everything I had seen with clinics I was very against methodone in the beginning I recommend find doctor from what I've seen the clinics in my state are in it strictly for the money they a medially tried to jack yourdose up so high you are dependent on them and then a lot of them water down the liquid methadone dose

yea i would just keep using heroin for a couple weeks and then make the transition back to suboxens they work they are a miracle drug and methadone is simply not...

stay on heroin until the methadone is completely diceast, then make the transaction back to the suboxin because they will save your life trust me methadone is the same thing as heroin except its free.. my advice.... do whatever you gotta do to get and stay on suboxen for a year straight , the withdraw when you do have to ween off is not that bad.. good luck

How long did it take you to come down from the 160 of methadone and how fast did you decrease your dose? My sister has taken 110 methadone daily for 3 years and wants to come down and then get completely away from the stuff but she is very afraid. I am very interested in how you did it or how fast since you seem to have made it. Thanks in advance for any advise you could give us.

i came down 5mls per week from 13omls to 35mls i always told the doctor i was ten mls behind my prescribed dose incase i felt the withdrawel i could stop or top up but i only need to do thios when i got to 25 mls i managed to get stable on 30mls for a week then stopped my methadone on the saturday to stay clean and start on subutex (not suboxone) i got half way thru the sunday maybe bout 7o'clock at night and my withdrawels were really bad so i got a bit of herionto smoke that took away my withdrawels till i fell asleep about 11pm i woke up and had an app to start my subs at 11 so i went and took 4mg at half past ten the next mornin then another 2mg at 5pm then another 4mg at 10pm then it went up 2mg a day till i was on 20mg the second week the chemist f##ked up and only gave me enough for 12mg a day which i got by fine on i can now get by on 8mg a this is only 7weeks down the line i feel great to be off my meth n much more clear headed i am actually reapin the benefits from other drugs again i.e my cannabis as with meth my tolerance to absolutely everythin seems to be thru the roof to scary levels!!! my advice is if u r ready to come off your methadone do it but its not as comfortable a life you are much more alert even tho while your on meth it feel;s like it does nothing to you the reason for me comin off it is someone made a comment my speach was slow and slurred and i just had my first son 19weeks ago so i done a rapid detox and have reaped the benefits but now because there is so little info on this i dont know how and when to come off this i dont kno if i'll still get any methadone side affect as methadone is a very lengthy painful "rattle" in have been on herion since i was fourteen i am now 26 been on meth since i was twenty and its bollocks the worst thing i ever done i would rather have a herion habit much easier and faster to kick aswell obv i dont want to have any habit or i would not have came from up to 4g of herion 5000mg of diazepam half oz(14g) of cannabis per day to a prescribed dose of 20mg subutex 30mg of diazepam maybe 1-3g per day of cannabis this is a MAJOR leap and its all been will power for my son and of coarse myself all i need to figure out now is how to train my brain to deal wth 110% pure reality check the most scary thought of my life. Its very hard to come off of any of these presicribed drugs i feel the nhs in scotland would rather keep us on them as they can control us a lot easier as we have to go with there rules or we rattle!!!!!!!!!!!

What you mean? Are you in the US? I fort the H out there is great? It used to be ace in the UK. Now its 100% hoover bag sweeping's lol...i get jelous thinking that the US has great H. But you have to pay for all ya meds. In Britain methadone subs all meds are free. Ad rather better gear probably lol..

Was on Methadone for 13 years. Went into a rehab and they let me cold-turkey in their detox unit. Doc said I had to Peak before giving me suboxone or wd will be worse. On day 3, I was cryng with insane suffering. Nurse called doc 3 am, woke him up, and explained. He had me sign a release if anything worse happened. I was so desperate, I took the chance. within 24 hours, I felt much better. Later found out that Subutex should be used instead of suboxone for Methadone patients only. Subutex doesnt have the narcan in it. Hope this helps. Whatever you do, dont try to cold-turkey methadone if youre on high dose. If you do, you'll be a very sorry person. Hope this helps. Good luck.
